How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The two showers allocated to our block had no hot water across the 3 days we were there. We spoke to the desk staff member who didn’t seem interested at all and just said to leave it on for longer to warm up, wasting water and which didn’t work.
The property is spacious with a nice view deck, seating and a good kitchen facilities. The room was spacious and everything felt very safe.

There were only single beds and single sheets, the breakfast was not on point. There is only 3 parking spaces
The accommodation is affordable and the host is very good at what he does.

No bar fridge in the room and glasses and it’s winter now they must have heater even if it’s wall heaters

The fact that I could not smoke my medical cannabis in the smoking area where only cigarette smoking is allowed. Unfortunately I didn't see the Rule visible as I was outside. Though I respected the Rules as they have their conditions why it's not allowed in the Designated Smoking Areas.
Amazing Environment for all travellers of kind and appreciate the breakfast offered.

Unfortunately they don’t have AC and the breakfast was super simple (just 1 coffee, 1 apple and some cereals)

Breakfast is limited. Room could've had more cupboard space.
The room was clean and comfortable. The reception is really nice and location is very convenient. WiFi was provided with no issues.

Rooms are close to each other so you hear everything. Noise. No safe parking.
Note this is a backpackers. Its not clearly advertised as such therefor a 6. Beds are really comfortable. Great location.

Still in flux - no hairdryer. No electric outlet in bathroom (?!) Would have been nice to have an indoor lounge/couch living-room vibe area with TV
The breakfast was great - fresh baked warm muffins a great touch! Rooms, beds, furnishings, and bathroom decor - all BRAND NEW. Very clean.

Oh the Coffee, can we just take a moment for coffee lovers out there to honour baristas that create a home for nomads through their magic they whip every morning - Nku is the best...Meeting all sorts of people from different walks of life was great which created a sort of community and a home away from home. 1st time doing budgeting living and loved it...would do it again! It helps that Wunderlux is such a great spot, beautiful interior and lovely garden.

Great facilities for a traveling group. Neat and clean, good communication beforehand. Organised with regards to sharing facilities among us and other guests. Good location for anything in and around Sea Point.

The only flaw is not having divided rooms for men only and female only
The accomodation is close to nearly everything shops, restaurant and transportation was easily accessible. It's a nice place to stay

I would recomend shelves ( lockers) and hooks for towels etc. Night lights when there's load shedding. Leave a mop in the bathroom to dry the floor after a shower..
The beds were very comfortable and the room was neat.

The dorm bathrooms did not have a hand towel when washing your hands. The showers are fancy but not really practical keeping water in the shower without a door. The top bunk beds are to high, could be 15cm lower. A shelf for your water-bottle and phone and key card will be a nice addition. Most importantly, a ceiling fan in the summer season for the dorm rooms will be appreciated also helps with the mosquitoes. Thanks
I liked the breakfast being included. Always nice having this option. I think the coffee was very good. The location was good.

the property was very central, staff were grate on arrival and departure, came late so could not use all facilities properly but definitely will book again in future, also would recommend adding a mirror to the room, especially the one we were in because a mirror is required when getting ready for your night out or stay in etc - other than that really pleasant experience
