Had to check in early which wasn't a problem. The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

The location and the view of Mt Fuji at the property was just spectacular. The food and service was impeccable. This property is a real gem. Located in a quiet location away from the busy tourist hub. We had a car so it was perfect for us but you might need to explore your options if using public transport. The owner Yoshi and his wife Aya are amazing. Yoshi is a real foodie and so also doubles as the chef with a focus on a fusion between Japanese and Western meals. The food was awesome and delicious. Yoshi also gave us some very helpful suggestions during our stay which were all great and enabled us to have the best possible time. We only stayed a couple of nights but when we left we felt like family. I can highly recommend this delightful and charming private hotel and I would love to return one day. I would count our stay here as one of the highlights of our holiday in Japan.

Breakfast was also yummy and very filling. The head priest gave me a introduction to the temple and to be able to meditate inside the temple early in the morning was amazing. The place is not hard to find but you definitely need a car to access it.

It was a beautiful stay and our first experience at a ryokan. We were made to feel very special from the moment we arrived, until the time we checked out. The meals were lovely. Lots of interesting things to try for both dinner and breakfast and dressed in the provided yukatas. We loooooved our private onsen in our room and also tried two of the three private onsens on site which can be used by any guest pending availability. Beautiful views! The town is also lovely but be prepared for the sulfur smell from the hot springs!
Great location, in house restaurant for breakfast and dinner, traditional Japanese Ryokan. Despite being a tatami mat with futons, the bedding was extremely comfortable. Free bus pick up from train station as well as free bus drop off to Snow Monkey park. Staff were very helpful and provided lots of information about what to do and how to do it. Shared bathroom facilities were quite basic but OK. The bonus is the key to the public onsens, all 9 of them.
The staff were superbly friendly while retaining the unique traditional ryokan atmosphere. The onsens were beautiful and entirely peaceful. Both the guest rooms and the dining rooms were beautiful tatami rooms that when paired with the yukatas really made you feel the atmosphere at its most. The shuttle bus service to the snow monkey park and train station was also incredibly helpful!
Lovely ryokan with fuji views! The onsen and breakfast were highlights, as well as the experience of staying in a traditional room with tatami mats and the futon bed. The location is a bit out of the main town but its only a short walk. Easy to get to via public transport from Tokyo too. The staff were very responsive and helpful.
The Onsen was gorgeous, clean and well organised with an efficient and easy to understand system. The staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful, and spoke English very very well. The rooms were beautiful and super warm (even while there in the snow you did not have to worry about rugging up). I loved the classic wooden ryokan set-up and tatami floors with futons. Futons were also made for you each night while you were out, and packed up for you after you left in the morning.
-Located next to Lake Kawaguchiko, if the sky is clear, you can see Mount Fuji from your room or in front of the Ryokan -Staffs are very very friendly, attentive and speaks fluent English -Room size is great and Futon is very comfortable -Free Parking lot -There are onsen (hot spring) provided in the ryokan (Gender separated) -Breakfast comes with a Japanese set, very delicious and beautiful presentation
The owners were very lovely and did their best to accommodate us, picked us up from the station. It was a very nice experience to stay in traditional japanese ryokan, room was like from another era, had a tea set and futons, but there were also ac, humidifier and fridge. We used an onsen, had yukatas, it was all very comfortable
traditional Japanse ryokan including onsen and sleeping on tatami floors and futon beds. staff is warm welcoming and willing to go the extra mile for you (gives a ride to entrance monkey park, source of great info)
Beautiful old ryokan with super friendly and helpful team; quality service (the pickup from the train station, the drive to the monkey park); delicious food and superb cappuccino. Really enjoyed the traditional rooms (sleeping on futons) and the relaxed atmosphere in the ryokan. And not to forget: access to the 9 onsen baths as a guest of the ryokan. Try them all, walking towards them in traditional Japanese yukata and gets. Enjoyed every second of being here!
