The hotel was very comfortable with a large atrium that added to the feeling of space and was very welcoming.
We were surprised by the size of our room which was more like a full suite than a junior suite.
The decor was in keeping with the age of the building.
The location was great right in the middle of Nerida with the square with many resturants right outside the door.
All the attractions and sites were within walking distance with the Castle near the square with the Roman bridge across the river great for a walk after dinner.
Lots of people had dogs with them in the hotel which was different but they were all well behaved.
With a convenient location, close to the old roman bridge and just 20 minutes’ walk from the city centre, this modern 4-star hotel offers high-quality spacious luxurious accommodation.

Mérida was founded as Augusta Emerita in 25 BC, the capital of the ancient Roman province of Lusitania. Located almost half-way between Madrid and Lisbon, it is nowadays an important historic centre, and the capital of the Spanish region of Extremadura. The ‘Archaeological Ensemble of Mérida’ has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The city was founded in order to protect the Guadiana River pass, becoming the largest city on the Iberian Peninsula. Visigoths, Moors, the Christian ‘reconquista’, and the Napoleonic invasion left their mark too, and the city is nowadays home to the most complete Roman remains in Spain.
Its historic centre displays a mix of all these cultures, with the Roman Theatre and the Roman Bridge standing out. The Alcazaba is the old fortress of Roman origin, successively rebuilt by Visigoths and Moors. Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque buildings, as well as typical cobbled streets complete the picture. Some of the most charming hotels and B&Bs in Mérida are located in the Old Town.
The easiest way to get to the city is flying in to Seville or Madrid, and then by train to the local railway station. Whether you’re searching the best hotels or budget accommodation, don’t miss the Mérida deals available on Booking.com!
We loved Merida! There is so much amazing history and it is all very easily accessible by walking. The city’s 17 euro ticket also makes it amazing value. The city is also quaint with cobbled stones, and it is a more genuinely Spanish experience, where most people don’t speak English and costa are more reasonable. I paid 1 euro for a takeaway coffee!

Probably one of the best antiquities museums in Spain.
Probably one of the best antiquities museums in Spain. There is much to see in this city including a Roman bridge, the alcazar, the Temple of Diana and especially the amphitheater and arena. The crowning glory is the museum as well as a Roman house.

The city is very walkable especially along the river and aqueducts. If interested in history the city has done an excellent job at showcasing its Roman history including a wonderful Museum. The city is a living "open air" museum. A combined ticket for multiple sites in 16Euros/8Euros for Seniors. We visited 7 sites.

Merida was a mecca for Roman history.
Merida was a mecca for Roman history. The museum was particularly beautiful with carefully selected pieces on display. It was easy to walk to all the major sites. We loved a gourmet supermarket opposite the museum and the first eatery in front of it. We took the tourist train at the last minute and it was a great way to get a feel for Merida and the location of all the sites.

A pretty, nice town. I liked the Roman bridge, the river, the sidewalk along the river, the Roman Theatre, amphitheatre, the Iberian bellota ham and pork. I had some good Iberian pork dishes, such as pluma, carrillada... So tasty! People are very friendly!

Merida has so many great archeological and cultural sites to explore. Thanfully they are all packed within walkable distances.
A day would not be enough unless you have the stamina. But it can be done.
I should have said whilst there but I didn’t want to spoil our stay. We have used Booking.com extensively and have been happy with your business model. However, the Merida wasn’t clean, the bathroom was disgusting with urine stains around the toilet, the floor hadn’t been swept and my wife found hair around her bed. The standard was poor, there was no service at all.
It was more expensive than the Parador in Salamanca where we are staying tonight and I wish I had booked two nights here rather than stopping at Merida.
It having been a while since we had stayed in a parador, Merida did not disappoint. We were greeted by a delightful young woman and her mentor (the former having only been in post for 2 hours.) Registration process was very efficient, but also personal. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. We dined that evening, and were most impressed with our meal, and also had the opportunity to have a conversation with the chef. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent.
Location, friendly staff, spacious, very comfortable , This hotel apartment is absolutely fantastic! Strongly recommend for a stay in beautiful Merida, the deluxe room is very comfortable, perfect for 3
people, amazing space beautiful decorated and air conditioning at the bedroom and the living room!!! Gracias to the super friendly lady at the reception for the hospitality! Gracias for making our holidays even better!
This is a beautiful and well-maintained property. My room was splendid. Breakfast was great and the restaurant also served a great lunch. The hotel is conveniently located to walk to the various Roman ruins with which Mérida abounds. I’m delighted to have stayed here. For those disinclined to walk, cabs loiter outside the hotel and are very reasonable.
The reception staf were very friendly and even helped us with our luggage. The hotel and it's rooms are newly renovated and looks very nice. Location also very close to both the station and city centre. Excellent choice for stay in Merida.
Location was perfect, could not have been closer to the centre. Access to the flat was so easy and uncomplicated. The contact lady responsible for the apartments was very helpful and friendly. Merida is one of Spain's unspoilt gems.
The location was great. Not exactly in the city center, but in less than 10 minutes you're in the heart of Merida.
The hotel is just on the other side of La Moreria. The parking lot is spacious and the stuff is really friendly.
Centrally located to exploring the Roman sites. Breakfast (9.50 euros/person) was okay but limited in items. Parking in hotel's garage 14 euros/night but convenient as no street parking around hotel.
Excellent little hotel. Very functional and clean. Room was small but comfortable. Staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. This hotel was exactly what I needed for my two nights in Mérida!
Efficient self check in. Great capsule/ mini apartment. Everything you need with a modern efficient design right in the centre of Merida. Everything was right there.
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Free parking. Didn't use the restaurant, so I can't comment. I walked into Merida, which was a good walk, so I would recommend a taxi
