Robins Nest is one of the nicest holiday lets we have stayed in. It is situated at the top end of a quiet street with distant views of the sea and - with a car - you are very well placed to explore everywhere around Russell. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep, including a lovely nature trail into Russell itself. The accommodation is perfect for 4 people, with two good-sized and extremely comfortable bedrooms, a large bathroom, and a large open-plan kitchen / diner / sitting room. The whole place is freshly decorated and very comfortably furnished. We really couldn't fault it and we couldn't have wished for a better place to stay for our short visit to this beautiful part of New Zealand. We should also say that Sharon and Paul are perfect hosts: communication in advance was easy and helpful, they made us feel welcome and gave us useful advice while remaining discreetly in the background.

Plenty of room to spread out. There is wonderful espresso across the street at “Hell Hole”. The hotel is 1.5 blocks from the waterfront and ferry. It was a pleasant little walk to go for a swim. The kitchen is small but well equipped and there is an outdoor kitchen for guests to use if you want to cook something. It's easy to find and there is good parking. Russell is just 5 minutes away but you would need a car.
