The accommodation was spotless generously proportioned and homely. We were given complete privacy and provided with all the essentials expected plus fresh bread, jams, cereal and yoghurt for breakfast. Jan even did a wash for us . We had full access to their beautiful gardens. We could have stayed a week !

Situated on the beachfront in Tutukaka and boasting a garden, The Sands Motel has free WiFi throughout the property. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. All rooms include a patio with views of the garden. We were in the area specifically to dive with a local dive company to Poor Knights Islands. This location was only 5 minutes away from the dive shop and had a beautiful small beach right in front of the property. The living area was very spacious, 2 bedrooms, everything was clean and functional. Good kitchen supplies and a large deck out front.

Trevor welcomed us on arrival and told us everything we needed to know and answered any questions we had. We spent two nights and wished we had more time.Paihia is a quaint and beautiful little town in the Bay of Islands. The motel was within very easy walking distance of the town with several resort choose from. The included breakfast was phenomenal and served right to our door right at the chosen time. We highly recommend Paihia Star Motel for value and a wonderful stay. It was well appointed, clean and friendly and the beds most comfortable! Thank you Trevor!!!
