The soul of the hotel is very nice, they care about the guests as well as the environment. Everybody was super friendly, they had tea, coffee and water at all times at the lobby.

Situated on the coastline of Hilo Bay, the Grand Naniloa Hilo, a DoubleTree by Hilton is 48 km from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. All rooms have free WiFi. The ocean veiw room on the 5th floor was exceptonal. The first room the had us in had a veiw of the roof and roftop equipment. I would highly recommend te ocean veiw room. Staff upgraded us for free but It would have been tragic to have to have spend 4 days looking at that roof. The staff at the hotel from front desk, valet, house keeping staff, bar staff, entertainment, was all to shelf. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

The bay-view rooms are fantastic--we saw the snowy peaks of Mauna Kea clearly. The hotel is situated almost within Liliuokalani Gardens, which was rated as the most scenic picnic spot on the Big Island by Lonely Planet. Tree frogs sang in the evenings in March and created a summer feel. Ample and free parking on the premise. The steak restaurant has bay views, too, and served large portions.

Hale Leilani - Hilo 3BR cold AC is located in Hilo, within 1.2 km of University of Hawaii, Hilo and 2.5 km of The Pacific Tsunami Museum. Great location. It was close to the beautiful waterfalls. I also appreciated all recommendations that were left for us by the owner. As a family of 4, we were all very comfortable with plenty of room.
