Is a very good place to stay. They have private small onsen, it is good enough. I drove there and there's parking for me too. It's quite a distance if you walk to the centre tho. Driving is fine.

Hotel was well located for Yubatake streets and centre. Also other onsen were within reach of the hotel (up to 10 minutes walk), although the hotel had their own onsen which we used. The meals were amazing (we had the half board option), with so much choice we couldn't eat it all. The quality was very good with chefs cooking some of the options in front of you. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially at meal times and reception giving us directions. An excellent hotel for Kusatsu Onsen, and an amazing experience.

While it felt a little way away from the main area of Kusatsu, it probably helped being away from the main source of the sulfur smell. (Make sure you keep the multiple doors closed down to the personal onsen to also keep that smell at bay!) Also, the location was walking distance to a great BBQ restaurant, amazing onsen, and a 7-11 for supplies. And the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Very much recommended!

I don’t know when it was built, but I’m guessing around the mid-seventies, when the resort was probably a very nice place to spend your vacation. The baths are very nice. The staff is top notch!!! Helpful and nice at all times. But then again, so was every person we met in Japan for 3 weeks, so I’m sure you would find that on other local hotels as well.
