The soaking pools met our hopes and needs perfectly, and we preferred the private rooms to any of the town’s public onsens. Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location was great—away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Staff were incredible—helpful, welcoming, and friendly despite our limited Japanese language skills! Would highly recommend for a quiet, peaceful stay.

The Houshi Chojukan Onsen hotel is a 20-minute drive from arts and crafts village Takumi-no-Sato. Mount Tanigawa-dake can be visited a 1-hour drive away. This place is just on the top of my ranking. A real Japanese experience with all the necessary detail to make the stay unforgettable. The different baths super clean and with history. The meals offered were delightful. And the environment just as needed, calm, serene and peaceful.

Guests can refresh in the massages chairs at the relaxation rooms and enjoy a ganbanyoku hot-stone spa. Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort. It offers free Wi-Fi at the lobby and a free station transfer. The property was very clean and quite traditional, I loved the traditional Japanese experience would highly recommend
