It was the perfect place to stay after watching the wisterias and cherry blossoms at Ashikaga Flower Park. Less than 30 minutes door to door using JR (train). The location is superb - a renovated traditional Japanese house, with tons of character. The food (Argentinian, Spanish) was excellent! I'm from Spain, and loved everything we tried: chorizos, Argentinian empanadas, Huevo roto (french fries, ham and fried egg). Dinner was delicious, wonderfully paired with great wine, and the fun company of our hosts, Gabriel and Yoko. A joyful place to rest and disconnect from the outside world. The music selection was impeccable and added to the ambiance. It was a wonderful experience. Net, net: wonderful Latin/Spanish food, inspiring lodging and fun company.

The futons were comfortable - unlike many accommodations. The villa was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the onsen.
Amazing villa, very nicely setup for large groups. The entire, personal, onsen downstairs was amazing! While it felt a little way away from the main area of Kusatsu, it probably helped being away from the main source of the sulfur smell. (Make sure you keep the multiple doors closed down to the personal onsen to also keep that smell at bay!) Also, the location was walking distance to a great BBQ restaurant, amazing onsen, and a 7-11 for supplies. And the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Very much recommended!
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to details. Tried the new breakfast menu and was quite happy with it. U can get free ferry service to the village centre of Kusatsu but even without it, the centre is only a short walk away. Place was clean and new. Definitely recommend to others.
The whole villa is big and clean, comfortable. Great for a group. The pictures did not to justice to the private onsen at the basement.
The Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Village is more a resort than a hotel. I don’t know when it was built, but I’m guessing around the mid-seventies, when the resort was probably a very nice place to spend your vacation. The baths are very nice. The staff is top notch!!! Helpful and nice at all times. But then again, so was every person we met in Japan for 3 weeks, so I’m sure you would find that on other local hotels as well.
The host is very nice. He picked us up at the bus station and drove us back when we left. The apartment is spacious and has it's own private hot spring :D laundry hanging was prepared and we could wash our stuff, which was brilliant. The neighborhood is quiet, which we liked very much, even if it is a 20 min walk into the village center.
It's a very spacious vacation home with a private hot spring at an affordable price! The staff is also very friendly and accomodating.
The blockhouse village and the nature around is amazing. Staff is always helpful and friendly. We traveled without car, so the taxi service is very convenient.
