The integration of man and nature, the facilities exceed my imagination, and the homestay owner helped book a trip to the zoo.The owner is also very enthusiastic.

The chalets are built on stilts 5 feet above the ground. Kele Yala provides all rooms with a balcony, and all rooms include a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. Rooms at the accommodation also feature air conditioning and a desk. The property offers a view of the surrounding wilderness.

I loved the location. In spite of the fact that it was pretty remote and the road wasn’t the best, we saw a lot of stars at night and it was very calm + close to nature. The dinner was amazing and delicious.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

The location was convenient for a safari, it took around 30/45mins to drive to the closest gate. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and greeted us with fresh juices. The outdoor aesthetics of the pool area surrounded by cabins was nice and there was plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Despite appearances, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the area was quiet.

Loved the jungle, staff were so kind and looked after us brilliantly. BBQ was tasty, safari was fun, the doggies (and their puppies) and Chutti the Sri Lankan squirrel were great company during our stay. One of the team took us on a fence walk and that was great to feel the jungle and feel so isolated.

Truly special hotel in the most natural setting. The staff are wonderful and keep all areas very clean. Atmospheric individual chalet rooms where monkeys often surprise you by jumping on the metal balcony roofs. The food is excellent- the best during our trip in Sri Lanka; high quality local and international options. The pool is lovely; although there don’t seem to be enough beds for the number of rooms, we didn’t have any problems getting some as most guests are out on safari.

The camp itself is beautifully made with little paths between the huts and it’s nestled right by the national park so the drive to the safari is a short one. But what really made the stay extraordinary was the staff. Especially the Camp Host. He was an attentive, knowledgeable and just very friendly host. Others in the team were also always alert and helpful with any request. The rooms themselves were luxurious in an understated way and tastefully decorated.

We loved our stay at Eden Yala. The effort and attention to detail from our kind and thoughtful hosts made it a very special 2 days. Sitting in front of the fire being served dinner as if in a top restaurant was wonderful. They recommended a full day safari and wow…what a day! We chose packed lunch, but had no idea it would be served in a fisherman’s hut on the beach, and with an elephant there! The tent was spacious and comfortable with a great outdoor bathroom, complete with friendly frogs!

We had a wonderful stay at the Cinnamon wild and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. The beach cabin was absolutely lovely and it was amazing to have wildlife strolling off the beach and around the resort in the afternoon and evening. With in 5 minutes of us entering our room an elephant appeared outside, a great start! The food selection was very good and the experiences we booked through the hotel were exceptional (jeep ‘n jungle dinner and full day safari) we can’t thank the staff enough for making our stay so wonderful
