“amber court was the perfect place to stay. it was convenient because of its distance from airport. We were picked up from the airport within 5 minutes of skyping the owner/manager. He and the other staff were lovely and helpful. The room was better than the pictures and the pics were good. The internet was great. Great place for a family. Not far from Nelson. Try the Yellow Cafe and the Ford restaurant near the church with the bell tower in Nelson. Both were excellent. We went rock climbing in Nelson. an hour is probably enough. it was fun. We window shopped in Nelson. We hired a car from Omega 2 minutes from the airport and a 10 minute walk from amber court motel. the service at omega was great. I recommend the $0 excess policy. you pay $15 per day but it well and truly covered the busted windscreen we got from a flying stone. We drove to Takaka and saw seals and their cubs and crystal clear waters at an old gold mine site, walked through the labyrinth and saw a salmon farm, chocolate factory and a candle factory. When we returned from Takaka we dropped the car off at the Omega rental place and the lady drove us to the airport. The entire trip was so smooth and relaxing.”

“Rebecca our host was friendly, knowledgeable and very personable. The bed was very comfortable and the floor in the bathroom seemed warm on the feet, suspect it was heated. A nice coffee machine is available, along with some chocolate treats that were provided and and our lovely host placed fresh flowers in our apartment. Fresh milk was in the fridge, not long life milk, great touch. The apartment was very clean, modern, spacious, quiet and private considering the main house where our host lived was quite close. The apartment does not cater for children but is ideal for a couple wishing to spend a few quiet nights away in Stoke (a nice suburb of Nelson). Located only a few minutes from shops and restaurants by the bay, very handy. Summed up would we stay again - definitely. Thank you Rebecca and Simon for your warm hospitality.”
