“Classic gold mining era hotel, right on the gateway to Yosemite Tioga Pass and Tuolumne Meadows. Beautiful outside and comfortable inside. The rooms were cozy, spacious and had everything you need. We were in Room 112, Tony Smith luxury room. The room is on the opposite side of iron door saloon so if you need quite, book a luxury room on the second floor. The beds were comfortable and had no issues with it. The bathroom was very clean. The staff was very helpful. The location was perfect if you are going to yosemite. They have a bus stop down the street near the park. It drives everyday to yosemite and it's $15 per person (same as yosemite entrance). It was worth leaving our car at the hotel and taking the bus it's a 45 min. bus ride worth it totally after a long day at yosemite. Breakfast had option and it was good. The city in which the hotel is located is small and you have everything you need in it, but keep in mind most stores close after 5 pm and but you have restaurants the best one is the iron door saloon bar and restaurant. Groveland hotel has a restaurant but it didn't work when we stayed there. I think if you want a sense and feel of old California, this is the town to stay in and I loved this hotel because it has history and vintage furniture. The hotel also has a history of ghosts, but luckily we were not in the ghost room. The road is right in front of the hotel. On the second floor you can hear traffic but it was not loud.”

“Very friendly guy at reception desk. I slept in a 10 beds dorm and it was good, enough space for everyone and every bed had its own bedlight and electra spots to upload tablets, phone, camera's etc. Kitchen was the best equipped kitchen I have seen from many hostels. Bathrooms clean. Linnen was free. Huge private parkingplace. I would definitely come back here again if I am around in the future.”

“Wonderful and friendly staff, excellent breakfast. I arrived about 8 hours early, so my room wasn't ready yet. But they gave me a better room with the same cost which made me super happy. It's about an hour drive to Yosemeti valley so if you are planing to go hiking there, you'll have enough time to listen to your favorite music and enjoy the road.”
