“This was by far the best holiday experience I have ever had!!! From the minute we arrived at Itaga we were made to feel like family. We were greeted by the staff and we were assisted with our luggage. We were led along a lovely path to the outside bar/dining area and given welcome drinks. At this stage I was in awe at how beautiful the place was...it was luxury in the heart of the bush. After our drinks, we went to our chalets for the first time and again, pure luxury, with thought given to the smallest things. The rooms was very spacious with an added bonus of an outside shower. Our first afternoon we were treated to a lovely platter of cheese, crackers and biltong, complimented by a glass of wine from a fantastic local selection. We arranged for a private game drive the next morning. We were met on time by a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate game ranger. He had initially set out to take us to a viewing station but we soon spotted elephant tracks and subsequently went about tracking the elephants. Initially I thought it was a bit of a joke, but to my surprise, we found them. It was a very exciting morning. To top it all off, we stopped along the way and had coffee and rusks in the middle of the bush. On the way back to the lodge, we were again surprised to run into the rhinos right on the road. We were greeted at the lodge with warm towels after the game drive, again, the small things that make all the difference. The rest of the day was spent around the lodge swimming, eating and drinking. My glass was never empty and we wanted for nothing. It was lovely being able to sit on the deck overlooking a waterhole and watching the wildlife go by, everything from baboons, warthogs, various buck and giraffes. Then there was the spa treatments, absolutely delightful. Nestled away from the main relaxation area, you are treated in an open area therapy room. You can hear, see and smell the bush while you are being pampered.”
