Situated in Lamu, Authentic Swahili style villa Milele House offers accommodation with a terrace and kitchen. There is a private entrance at the villa for the convenience of those who stay. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a year-round outdoor pool.

This villa was gorgeous, in the historic Swahili style of Lamu. We had the loveliest time here. The location is relatively quiet though you are in the middle of town - we walked everywhere easily. There is also good Wi-Fi which was great for us as we were working remotely on some of the days. The rooftop has a lovely breeze and sitting area where the Wi-Fi reaches. There is also a very nice sitting area around the small pool. Jamhuri, who welcomed us on arrival, was friendly and easy to communicate with. With enjoyed every moment of our stay and I would definitely return again.

Umma House has a terrace and is situated in Lamu, within just 300 metres of Lamu Museum and 500 metres of Lamu Fort. Guests staying at this villa have access to a balcony. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and 18th Century Swahili House Museum is 100 metres away.

The villa consists of 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and 4 bathrooms.

The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Spacious and beautifully decorated Swahili house. We got upgraded on our arrival and had the huge upstairs room with the biggest bed we’ve ever seen! The balcony and rooftop lounge area were great for relaxing with incredible views. Very clean rooms. Nice breakfast including traditional Swahili foods as an option. The manager Joseph was outstanding - he went out of his way to show us around, finding various places and helping us organise our day. Huge thanks to Joseph for making our stay so enjoyable!

Shiban house is a great place to stay in Shela. Biggest, most comfortable beds you’ll ever see in a very clean house. Rooms and common areas are very spacious and there’s a great atmosphere to the place. what stands out in Shiban house though are the hosts. Jozef does an amazing job at making you feel at home and helping you around, with an everlasting smile and lightheartedness. 100% recommend staying here.

The breakfast was great all you have to do is tell the chef what to prepare. There are a few things not available in Lamu like bacon or pork sausages, you can bring them from the main land. Tip: Send an exact shopping list on quantity otherwise there is a lot of wastage. Loved the bonfire very today. The staff were friendly and the place very clean. It was a very unique experience felt like we were living in a tree house. All in all I would book Kisura house again.
