The granary is beautiful, communication beforehand (eg about how to find it) was great, and the owners very very kindly left bread, milk, tea, cereal etc and a bottle of wine for when I arrived. There are also recommendations for where to eat nearby. Couldn’t have had a better stay!

The Granary is located on a working farm at Duchess Farms in Sawbridgeworth. Ideally close to Sawbridgeworth Train Station and Stansted Airport. It’s a busy place but at the same time tranquil. We also have a make up and photography studio on site if you are heading off to a party or a wedding. We have a secluded lake on the farm and will furnish you with a map and a picnic bag so that you can enjoy the beauty of the Capability Brown Landscape. Or, great pubs , all walking distance.
We are super lucky to have acquired a small villa on Lake Como and for anyone looking you have found a truly magical place. In the real world I am based in the UK with my husband John on his family farm in Sawbridgeworth. A busy beautiful place where my sons also operate their varied businesses, We have decided to convert some of our small dwellings into holiday lets, and really hope you enjoy sharing them with us. The granary is situated on a busy, family run working farm. As well as harvesting barley and wheat we also have with a flour mill and a rape seed oil business and coming soon a pasta maker. Sawbridgeworth is a well connected place but has the feel of a big village. Masses of pubs, restaurants and a small supermarket. The river stort is 10 mins away and the towpath allows leisurely, scenic walks along the river. It takes 15 mins by car to get to Stansted. Its a 20 min walk from Sawbridgeworth train station, there is plenty of parking at the farm, and outside the Granary. You can also walk into Sawbo town where there are a lot of pubs, pharmacy and supermarkets.
