Company information

This is Stan and Norie your hosts at Tides Reach. I am a retired sea captain who has travelled extensively and still love and enjoy the sea. Norie is a retired NHS nurse practisioner who loves to keep Tides Reach neat and tidy for our guests. I am a volunteer teaching young kids to sail on the mainland and operate the safety boat when they get it wrong. Its my job to ensure everything is ship shape for your stay. The decor within Tide's Reach has a nautical theme as you may expect and binoculars are provided so that you can view the many cruise ships passing on a daily basis from Portsmouth and Southampton. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets over the sea from the apartments balcony accessed from the lounge. I am your first port of call if there are any problems during your stay. Call me with any problem large or small!! I am able to offer my clients your Ferry from Southampton at 25% discount from published rates. I have made things very easy for you by providing a self check in via key safe outside the main door of the building. Self check out also. There is tea and coffee provided in the kitchen area and basic cooking spices etc. which you are free to use. The many restaurants situated within easy walking distance.

PLEASE NOTE : We can now offer you discounted FERRY BOOKINGS to the Isle of Wight. Tides Reach is as the name implies is within a stones throw from the sea. On the balcony or with the door open you can hear the waves and smell the sea air. Lovely peaceful location at the end of the Esplanade yet convenient for almost everything you need. Bus stop across the road and an elevator to take you up the cliff to the old village where thatched roofed tearooms and bars abound. Childrens amusements are plentiful within walking distance. Beach bar is located right on the beach within a short walk. To get to Tides Reach I can offer you 25% discount on Red Funnel Ferries and a variable discount on Wightlink Ferries. Inside Tides Reach there is everything you need just like your home. Cooking facilities in a full kitchen and a barbecue at the rear if you want to cook but its more fun to explore the many restaurants available within walking distance and/or within Shanklin itself. At the rear of the apartment there is a small decking area with furniture and a barrel barbecue for your use. A large commercial elevator within the building takes you just one floor up to Tides Reach with its en-suite master king size bed and a second bedroom with two hotel grade single beds with an adjacent full bathroom. An open plan lounge and diner kitchen leads onto the furnished balcony just 25 ft from the beach with gorgeous sea views of the beach the cliffs and passing ships. Tides Reach is modern and comfortable and a TRUE Home from Home for our guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need including a washing machine and dishwasher.. The two bathrooms are light and modern the main one containing a bath and a shower, ensuite has a walk in shower. The whole property has a full sprinkler fire safety system for your safety, The balcony area is protected at night by a Blink video security system. Feel secure and enjoy your stay

Neighbourhood information

In the area there is something for everyone. Many visitors from all over the world arrive to visit the 200 yr old Shanklin Chine and stroll through the Old Village with its quaint thatched buildings. Within the town of Shanklin itself there is a very good theatre and Michelin stared restaurants. You can hire canoes, take banana rides and take sea trips on your doorstep and for children there are many theme parks and amusements within strolling distance. Outdoor types will enjoy cliff top walks and walks along the beach to other places. Cycling is very popular too.
