Everything was wonderful. It felt very private, had a gorgeous little wooden patio right by the river for hanging out and watching the birds. The room was very comfy, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. There is also solar power that kicked in during load- shedding, and the wifi was great. Sophia was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed paddling on the river on our last day.

This is a most beautiful spot - much better than the photographs! Was a lovely surprise to arrive on a baking hot day, after a long drive, to find our rooms hidden in a really special garden amidst a forest. There are two communal braai areas, a big shaded table and chairs and a little plunge pool. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable and everything thought of. At night we looked up at a sky full of stars and enjoyed the tranquility and gorgeous air. We felt safe and very relaxed. Althea was warm and welcoming, and provided clear instructions on how to get there, where to buy food etc. We shopped at the local padstal and bought sosaties, sausages and rooster brood for our braai. Was delicious. Our regret was that we were only staying one night - we found it difficult to leave Furrows Lodge! What a find! And….a short walk to the Owl House and this remarkable village, restaurants etc. All in all, a memorable stay.

The nature around was beautiful. The whole experience felt really private. We booked a guided tour and a game drive which was also very private. The ranger who ran the activities was simply wonderful. He shared his deep knowledge in flora & fauna, we really enjoyed our time with him. We saw a variety of animals, not only on the guided tours but as well as just walking around property. The value for money is just insanely good. +The food was delicious! Best wishes to Dean & Fay who really cared to make our time at the lodge memorable. Would love to come back. Thank you!

Beautifully appointed lodges in a wonderful setting. Food and drink sensibly priced and staff really lovely.
Beautiful location and lodges. Loved the small group numbers and communal dining. Game drives were amazing. Great food
Everything here is incredible, you'll be blown away by the set up, the staff, the food, the safari, the rooms, the scheduling, the drinks options, it's all spot on. The reserve itself is great, so big it feels like a lot of effort to see the animals but still small enough that we saw all of the animals we could have asked to see. The guides were incredible, so helpful, chatty and accommodating and all of the time spent at the lodge is exceptional - chill/drink/eat/coffee/swim, do what you want its all there!
Always a pleasure staying at Africa Safari Lodge. This time round, Dean made it extra special by capturing some memorable moments. The welcome reception and the overall stay was amazing. Picturistique and tranquil views are always breathtaking especially with lots of rains in the recent weeks.
The highlight was the tranquillity and nature of the accommodation. It is also very beautiful, stylish and cozy. We immediately felt at home. Ingrid is a brilliant hostess and gives good advice. She is very friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious. Even though the access road to the lodge is a bit long, you can easily reach activities such as Addo and Schotia Safari.
The location and view from the restaurant and lodges was beautiful and staff was very friendly.
We love everything about African Safari Lodge: comfortable, well appointed lodging, super friendly and helpful staff who are most responsive to every small request, beautiful nature views, lovely and challenging cycling.
25 Mins from Addo National Park. the game lodge itself is its own game reserve. dinner and breakfast available and very nice. Wi-Fi in Common areas is good. very safari—esque hosts are very friendly. Rooms comfortable
2nd time we’ve stayed there and just as good as the first. This is a great and far more cost effective way of safariing in Amkala Nature Reserve. The house and lodge are furnished in an old Dutch farm style which is lovel and the gardens/ pool make it unique in the area. Far cheaper than the lodges in the park and only across the road so the safaris are exactly the same!
Awesome staff. And our Ranger (Denese) was exceptional - her knowledge was 2nd to none and we learnt so much from her. Lodge is due for some money to be spent on it, but it’s still great. Game viewing was spectacular. Food was better that most game lodges, so happy there. Spa treatment was a real treat too.
