Free WiFi available throughout the hotel and free on-site parking is available. Free pick-up service is available from Kawaguchiko Station upon request. We booked Asafuji somewhat impulsively, having limited options at the last minute, but it turned out to be a delightful choice. Managed by a couple for four decades, Asafuji is a charming hotel where every detail is meticulously taken care of. Despite the initial impression of small rooms from the website, we were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness upon arrival. The highlight, undoubtedly, is the breathtaking view of the lake and Mt. Fuji – a feature that we absolutely loved, and the ONSEN! The staff at Asafuji played a significant role in enhancing our experience. Their assistance was not only helpful but also prompt in response. A special mention goes to a female Vietnamese staff member who went the extra mile to encourage my son to eat during dinner. This seemingly simple gesture significantly contributed to our peace of mind while indulging in the scrumptious dinner prepared by the hotel. Speaking of which, the food was not only delicious but well presented in Japanese style. For those seeking the authentic ryokan experience in Kawaguchiko, I wholeheartedly recommend Asafuji. Despite its modest size, the hotel's central location manages to strike a perfect balance, offering tranquility amidst the scenic surroundings. Our stay at Asafuji was a memorable blend of comfort, stunning views, and warm hospitality – an experience we would gladly repeat and recommend to fellow travelers.

Surpassed our expectations in every way! Loved the included breakfast and 7 course dinner, the onsen-turned-bookstore, and the private onsen in our room with hot spring water directly from the source. 10/10 would return!
Very traditional Ryokan in a genuine onsen hot spring town. The hosts go above and beyond and are ever so friendly. Larger than the average Japanese room and also very comfortable beds ( much as we like the traditional mats it was good to have a break )
Great service, there's an outdoor and indoor onsen. The lady helped me with her food recommendations around the area. There's also an elevator so you don't have to carry your luggage up the ryokan! Please read the instructions provided especially for which onsen you can go to (so you'll have to remember the Japanese characters for Man and Woman) and know when the outdoor onsen is available to guests and when it is available for private use. I used a car so this place was good for me. It had a lot of parking.
Breakfast and dinner was sumptuous. The room was very clean and spacious, we also had a very nice view of Mount Fuji from parts of the room. Private onsen was excellent as well. Everything was provided like a 5-star hotel, from toiletries to drinks, they even had a towel warmer! The bed was more comfortable than some hotels. The apartment had elements of a ryokan yet was modern like a service apartment. We exceptionally love the service of the hosts :)
The best ryokan experience we’ve ever had. We barely left the hotel as It’s so relaxing just sit in the cafe or our room and taking in the scenery of the autumn leaves and the mountains. The outdoor onsen was amazing. The private onsen in our room was really nice too. Everything was perfect! Thank you to all the staff at Yunoshimakan we had an amazing time there.
This is an amazing ryokan. The staff is extremely friendly and nice. They do all and everything to make your stay memorable. The public onsen in the ryokan was great, very serene atmosphere. The room was huge, with a private onsen. All the facilities are very clean. The food (dinner and breakfast) is amazing, tasty and beautiful. The city is nice and quiet, great to walk around. There is a small bamboo forest, a river runs thru it, nice buildings. Picturesque!
We love the wooden smell in the property. Everything inside are very clean and new. The property is very near to Hoshino Hot Spring Onsen, just 3 minutes driving. The description in Booking.com matches the property perfectly. Very easy to communicate with the owner via email.
