Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing was the water was boiling coming out of tap and I got a burn I daresay that'll be part of the reason for the changes as that'll not be cost effective or eco friendly can hear it bubbling away in the boiler. .
We were at this appartment last year so was good to return. I love this rustic appartment and Bennie the dog. It was warm this time so could enjoy sitting outside we were able to watch the family of turtles going about. Also persimmon growing on the trees. We went to Montenegro this time and Schkoder but we love Tirana so had to come back to this appartment. Last year the major bonus was seeing Dua Lipa playing in Skanderberg square on independence day unfortunately she wasn't playing in the square this time. Bennie the dog is an old boy now and lovely there is a kind lady that works there that look's out for him. Reading the reviews he has friends from all over the world I just hope he has the right friends if he needs them. With the appartments getting knocked down and new builds being put up I doubt we'll be back but great to visit again. All good.

AustraliaNothing - it was great! I'd come back in a heartbeat.
Good location, fairly central, with a supermarket nearby. Apartment is back from the street, behind a secure gate, and there is only one. Although the compound is shared with the owners, it feels very private and as if you have the whole place to yourself. It is 'guarded' by a sweet, half-blind old dog. Lots of greenery - persimmon tree and flowering bushes, but also an atmospheric view of other apartment buildings from the terrace. Insect screens on windows. Apartment is homely, with nice old wooden furniture, kitschy but charming old stuff, paintings and flea-market finds. Owner was responsive and accommodating.

ItalyThe GPS location indicated in Booking page was not correct. We had to contact directly the host to have the correct position. the electrical sockets were of the old type without grounding so it was not possible to use the 3-pin plugs. To solve the problem I had to get an adapter with a 2-pin plug and a power strip
The location was truly excellent, just a few minutes from the centre. In the surroundings of the structure there were various places to eat and a convenient supermarket. The possibility of having breakfast on the private terrace with a swing was appreciated. All rooms were very clean

SwedenThe sleeping mattress in the double bed was very outdated (you could feel the box springs).
The location is perfect. Very central, close to the main square. It was very clean and cosy. A small jewel in the midst of a very lively neighbourhood. Superfriendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomNothing really! The furniture and fittings are traditional and dated but functional. Perhaps two chairs and a table on the terrace upstairs would have allowed us to make more use of the space.
The location was easy to find and convenient. Everything we needed within a short walk. The airport bus, shops and eating places, the market area, the cable car and buses to other cities. The bed was comfortable. The private apartment is on two floors in a traditional family home. Frenki was helpful and easy to contact.

United KingdomCouldn't really fault anything price great and very cosy and comfortable with comfortable bed too. Next time we'll go when it's a bit warmer to take advantage of sitting outside.
Loved this apartment liked the courtyard rather than just a balcony. It was very central with lots of pastry shops, coffee shops and restaurants nearby. It had all the facilities needed on holiday. Also a great price. We also made a furry friend with one of the staff's dogs. Frenki the host was always on the end of the phone if needed and a very nice guy and his staff also. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and we do hope to return as we went to Kosovo this time and would like to go to Montenegro next time. Tirana is a great city and loved it - a must to return to.
