The place is in such a great location, the host is super friendly and it has a small kitchen and lounge area which is useful. Beds were super comfy and they has storage lockers to safely secure your things.

Included breakfast on the terrace would be a nice extra touch but in general nothing to complain about!

The location of the hostel is just perfect. The mother and daughter running it are super nice and welcoming. I was the only guest and they really took good care of me. The room is cosy and there's everything you need include lockers and luggage storage under the bed, padlocks included (which is so rare!)

There is no kitchen.

Location is excellent. The views are nice. The lady who checked me in was very nice although she doesn’t speak English. She made coffee and putt me in the room with 4 beds because all the bottom beds in the other room were occupied.

This hostel has breathtaking views over the river & old town. Everything is a few steps away. You can easily go up to the castle, cross the river, go shopping or just enjoy a drink in the picturesque veranda. The cleanliness is spot on, the bed is super comfortable and we got entertained by the lovely dad of the owner. It is worth mentioning that this hostel is super relaxing and chill; and the interior is traditional yet pretty with stonewares, crochets ,etc. I appreciated the lockers for both luggage and valuables. I loved my stay and felt privileged being hosted by this lovely family. Thank you all

I've been travelling for around 15 years, and the owner of this place is the warmest person I've ever met hands down. I showed up when the property was closed and not only they still managed to accommodate me, but offered an alternative just in case. Fresh fruits in the garden, great breakfast, perfect location in an authentic place for a cheap price. Offered an extra blanket just in case. Free towel.

Beautiful place in the old town region mangalem. The house is really nice and I really liked the beds to. But the best thing about this place are the owners. I‘ve never had kinder hosts anywhere else. When I had food poisoning the owner made me tea and gave me food etc. and she was really really sweet. Absolutely recommend this place fot your stay in Berat!

If they could put a microwave in the kitchen will be great.

The dorm was very comfortable and clean. I met many solo backpackers from all over the world. We shared our different itineraries about where to go and where have we been. I stayed 4nights here and never felt boring. The families were so friendly and helpful. The owner helped me to drop my heavy luggage to the bus station. I felt so lucky that I chose to stay in this lovely hostel.

Mangalem is a great experience in every way. Great family! I didn't want to leave!, they go above and beyond - amazing people. The location is perfect, and the house is so nice tourists take photos of it, just the right size for a chill hostel and a perfect green outdoor area, friendly people, friendly place. Even the views from the bedroom window are pure magic. Much love for Genda and family, they took my stay in Berat to the next level.

A very lovely, relaxing and charming place, in a very beautiful area. If I am lucky enough to come back in Albania, I definitely would try to stay there again.
