Noise in the back rooms.

Hotel Stein was in a great location and a lovely hotel. Good size room, we were upgraded to a small suite which was lovely but we had no view and as it backed onto a lane way with a pub/bar the room was very noisy late into the nights. probably would have been happier with the smaller room with a view of the fortress and river at the front. Parking was available but expensive, likewise breakfast at a reduced rate of Euro 24:50 per person per day. Seemed expensive.

On the final night (Friday) we ate in the rooftop restaurant but due to our starters not arriving and waiting a long time we decided to cancel them and just have a main course.

Fabulous welcome - we were given fizz on arrival, hot towels for our hands and a doorman take our case. This was most unexpected and very much appreciated - the best welcome we have ever had from a hotel. On top of this we were given a free upgrade to our room. We couldn't fault the room. It was the best room we have ever stayed in - a junior suite with the view of the river. A great power shower, huge shower cubicle and large bed. We also had free bottled water each day given to us by the hotel and a coffee machine. A fabulous stay!

Excellent location very near the old town very modern and classic style interior beautifully done. staff were very helpful nice polite. we were upgraded to a suite bedroom was lovely great view of the castle. The hotel had beautiful roof top Bar with great views would recommend a stay or visit

Room was very hot. We opened windows which solved the heat, but not I'm afraid the binmen and the road cleaners at 5.30am.

The hotel is superbly located in the centre of the city, 15 minutes taxi from airport, and 10 minutes to the train station. Hotel was excellent. Restaurant was top class. Staff in general were excellent.

This is an amazing hotel. The view from my room was great. I could see the Fortress sitting beautifully over the old town... The only thing that beat that there was the view from the rooftop! It was spectacular. They upgraded my room for me for free, they charged my phone when my charger stopped working. They looked up all the info for my train tickets for me. If I am ever lucky enough to visit Salzburg again, I would definitely stay here...

centralised heating system. the room was so warm and we couldn’t adjust anything to cool it down. due to location when to open the window it’s noisy so that wasn’t an ideal option

There were only two things I didn’t like. firstly the heating was set too high and couldn’t be turned down, we opened our window but it was above a bar which was open until around 3am and secondly I don’t think the breakfast was worth €30, we actually cancelled the second days as it just didn’t seem worth the money although the service was great and what was on offer at the buffet was nice quality I would just have liked a little more hot offers and choice

The property was beautifully kept, our bedroom was lovely with the best shower I think I’ve ever used and the rooftop bar serves fantastic cocktails. the team were incredibly friendly and looked after us really well throughout our stay

Controls for lights and air conditioning in room not straightforward.

Very comfortable hip hotel in perfect spot for seeing and exploring Sallzburg. Excellent breakfast with trays of fresh frequently replenished. Views from terrace restaurant spectacular. You feel you could almost touch the old town Baroque towers. Staff attentive and room spacious.

The view from the bar upstairs is extraordinary (outside area under renovation until March). The shower... Incredible! Everyone was extremely helpful and kind, and the room was lovely and luxurious, with all kinds of extras like free drinks in the fridge, earplugs, nice deco and lighting, etc. I hope to be back soon!

the room was super clean, conveniently located, shops and restaurants around. you get to the old town just crossing the river. 5 mins walk. I would definitely come back to this hotel. we had a comfortable stay. thanks for the hospitality!

Great location, staff very welcoming and efficient, hotel well maintained. Our room was lovely and clean. Situated in the heart of Salzburg and close to great restaurants, pharmacies, cafeterias and stores in general.
