Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing I could think to improve - it’s really great. I would contact the owners direct via the website as some of the booking dot com details are out of date and arrival is a ballet due to the central location - so best explained.
This is a fabulous family run Hotel and an excellent Location, only 2 1/2 minutes walk from the lift. The decoration has been done to a very high standard in the mountain style. The hosts are a couple who are working hard to build a great business and for whom nothing is too much trouble. They both speak. Excellent English, offer a super breakfast, room is cleaned every day and really there is nothing more that you can ask for.

United KingdomThe hotel is great, but most of Ischgl is closed in June-between ski and summer seasons-so best to go earlier or later.
Ischgl is a lovely alpine town on the beautiful High Alp Road, and the hotel is conveniently situated close to the main road, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, also a supermarket. Very clean and tidy, friendly and helpful staff.

United KingdomOur party had three rooms at the property, each room was spotless and Mario and Anja made us extremely welcome. They were very accommodating with requests such as travel cots and couldn’t have done more to make our stay enjoyable. They are a great team. The breakfast was also delicious and set us all up for a day of skiing. The location of the property meant everything was on our doorstep which was perfect. We definitely hope to return.

Mario, Anja, their son and their dog are phenomenal owners! Their communication is spot on, they work extremely hard and they make sure that your stay is cozy and relaxed. Location of the place is literally 10 out of 10! If you stay here, and I'd fully recommend you do, you literally walk to gondola for 45 seconds, and when you are coming back from slopes, you again walk to the place for literally 30 seconds. Breakfast was super versatile. Everything was fresh, lot of things to mix up and we loved all options served. If you love skiing, this is the place to stay as it gives you everything that you expect to be set when you are on a ski trip. Ski room is spot on, you also have a cozy spa to use in order to refresh yourself after a good ski day. I can't recommend enough the place, our apartment was amazing, clean, nicely decorated, spacious. I can't remember I felt more welcomed in any other place I've stayed before. Also, if you are not feeling confident on skis or you want to improve your skiing, talk to Mario, he's a ski instructor for more than 2 decades. Parking is also sorted. If you are in Ischgl, don't even think about it, this is the place to be.

BelgiumWe stayed in the bunk bedroom, one room for 2 and one room for 3. I definitely won't recommend the bunk bedroom, you have no window which you can open, no own toilet or bathroom (shower you have to take in the hotel wellness area), and only one power point for 8pp in the whole room. Due to our reservation with this platform, we could not reserve any breakfast or parking either. They do not like this platform at all, so customers who booked it via booking.com get less service than others.

United Statesit’s a small bed and breakfast (not a hotel) run by a married couple. I paid $300 per night for 7 nights and got very little value. the owners are very cheap! I traveled with 2 friends who stayed at different hotels and they got a much better deal. paid much less (around $200 a night) and got a much better value. first breakfast is not included. my friends both had breakfast and complementary happy hour after ski including hot soups, wine and snacks! there are no employees at the place except for the couple. no front desk. no mini fridge in the room so you can’t even get a cold drink after a day of skiing. no coffee or tea in the room. I don’t mind buying my own coffee or tea but there’s not even a kettle to boil water in the room. after a day of skiing if you want a cold drink or a coffee/tea you need to go to a restaurant! my friends both had coffee, tea and mini fridge in the hotels. they only give you one towel for the whole week. no shampoo or soap in the shower. shower is tiny and claustrophobic. I took a towel to the spa one day and the owner was mad at me saying it cost her money to wash it! there’s a small bar at the hotel where you can buy a soda or coffee and the husband works there but it was almost always closed except for the weekend. when I checked out after 7 nights I was told the check out time was 8am and they didn’t agree to let me check out later! my friends checked out at 10am! the owners also complained that they need to wait 3 weeks to get the money from booking. bottom line I will not return. the owners are extremely cheap

SwedenWe had read so many nice reviews about the hosts (that’s why we chose this place) but we had the opposite experience. We had several very unpleasant discussions with the host and she was very negative and unhelpful. One example was when we booked the 3 bed room we initially only registered two guests (since we didn’t know how many nights the 3rd guest would stay). I emailed several time, send several messages through booking.com but she did not reply about how much it would be to add the third guest. When she finally picked up the phone (1 month later!) she yelled at me for 5 minutes in the phone and REFUSED to add the third person to the 3 bed room (I was in shock since we were a family of 8 people, not being able to find a new location to stay at). She was very annoyed with me that we booked through booking.com and said we should have booked directly through their website. Finally we reached out to booking.com who helped us adding the third person - no extra cost.🙏 The place is nice, clean, great location near the lift (but too crowded since it’s located just by all after skis) but it is an awful feeling when you feel that you need to tip toe around the host for 1 week so you don’t do anything to upset her. Will not recommend or come back.
The location was great that it was just next to the lift (but the area was to crowded with people and after ski.)

Portugalit is a simple b&b, cleaning failed a bit as the floor was not cleaned once during our 8 night stay, after cleaning sometimes towels were not left in the room and bed sheets looked used so they were not changed or were not clean when we arrived, there was an issue were my covid vaccination was not being accepted in Austria and instead of being met with hospitality and giving assistance, the hotel staff simply threatened to throw us out if I didn’t resolve the situation, they didn’t even have the patience to call Austrian vaccination authorities (as the number only spoke Austrian) and luckily a taxi driver (!) was kind enough to make the call and then help us in translating everything with the authorities. after resolving the situation, the hotel staff still commented to us that we caused a lot of stress to them and that they were put in a difficult situation. NOT what you expect from an hospitality service.
location is good and the room has a good area
