Barbara, the owner was great and really kind. It was a very charming place, breakfast was great and really well-organized despite the limited space, we truly enjoyed it. We picked a family room I think and it was quite spacious and the balcony absolutely adorable. The bathroom was also quite spacious and we had space to park our car at the facility. We definitely would go back again as the town is also incredibly beautiful and perfect for a relaxing stay. Our second time to this beautiful part of Austria.

The hotel has a great location in the center of St. Gilgen. The rooms were clean and ours came with a well-equipped kitchen and a nice balcony. The absolute highlight was the amazing breakfast provided by the lovely host!

Nothing was open, it was like a ghost town so we left a night early but that is not the fault of the hotel.

There was noone there when we got in. We were informed where the key was and we got into the room alright, but we could not find out the wifi code (despite trying to message the property a few times through booking app). It was only on the next day when we were about to check out that we saw the WiFi code sign on the (backside of the ) door.

It was quite well located, just a short walk into the Centre. The place was clean and quiet.

We booked a 2 bedrooms apartment, so our baby can sleep in the other 2nd bedroom. Practically, the bedrooms were connected, so you need to pass through the baby's room (who looked more like a corridor they turned into a room) to get to the other bedroom or to the shower/toilets that were inside the parents bedroom. Definitely not what we expected when booking and paying for a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment is also on the ground floor so people that walk outside near the windows can look inside the living room. Also, the bed is super soft ant not comfortable.

The first thing to know about this place is their check in times (3pm-6pm) appear to be very strict. We arrived at 2:15 and there was no one there. A number was provided on the door where we could call, but unfortunately we had no Austrian sim card. The hostess arrived right at three and checked us in no problem, but if you happen to arrive early you might be stuck waiting outside with all your luggage like we were. The hostess's English is not great either so it might be best to confirm your arrival time clearly in advance. Check-out time could also be an issue, as there is an equally strict 10:30 am check out (we were asked to check out at 10 if possible). Another issue was the shower, which did not have a watertight seal and thus gave us a frequently wet bathroom floor. This was not helped by the fact that no one makes up the room unless you pay an additional fee. Speaking of which, remember that when you check out you will need to pay a city tax that is not included in the booking.com payment. Finally, there is a heater provided in the room, but even at its lowest setting it made the room much too warm.

The highlight of the guesthouse is the public spaces - our balcony, the area directly outside the hotel, the kitchen - all were really nice. The size of the room was also a plus, with more than enough space for the two of us and our large bags. Also, while they didn't provide a huge variety of toiletries, what they did provide was more than we could possibly need. St. Gilgen is a lovely little town and this is a good home base. Note, however, that the town seems to essentially shut down on Sundays

The owner made a mistake with our booking and put us in a 1 bed apartment rather than a 2 bed apartment. There were no other 2 bed apartments available anywhere in the area so we had no choice other than to accept the 1 bed apartment. We were given a complimentary breakfast as a good will gesture but this didn't really compensate for having to cram into a small flat and sleep on a sofa bed for 8 nights.

Great location near to the centre of town. Breakfast buffet was good.
