Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesBed and pillow sheets, towels, no water bottle provided and no cleaning service.
Room was very beautiful with good size and balcony. Bed was comfortable but bed, pillow sheets and towels were not properly cleaned and a bit smelly. Room facilities were just ok, owner does not even provide a water bottle. It was in the centre of St. Gilgen, 5 minute's walk to the lake and kids' parks, and 8 minute's walk to the bus station. The surrounding area is so quite but after 7 pm all supermarkets, shops and restaurants are closed, you will not be able to buy a water bottle after 7 pm. For daily cleaning and changing the bed sheets, you need to pay an additional amount, it's not covered for your entire stay.

United KingdomThe kitchenette was very tiny as there was an induction cooker and a sink beside it with no worktop space if you wanted to prepare the meals. We had to use the table for this. If we were staying there for one night this wouldn't be an issue but for the 3 nights it was a bit inconvenient.
The location of the apartment was very good as it was placed very close to the lake side. We stayed here for 3 nights and visited all the attractions around Salzkammergut. There are two supermarkets nearby which we visited and it was easy as we had a car. The self check in was smooth and we parked the car on one of the spaces that belong to the house.

Room is clear, location is perfect. Hotel is like historical village home, you can feel in dream yourself. And owner is really helpful. She is best host. You should choose Haus Mayerhofer, if you will visit this areas. You can stay with your family, and when you can sit at balcony, you can watch mountain views. Also there is free parking for your car.

United KingdomNothing, Haus Mayerhofer and the family helped make our holiday a great experience.
The rooms was spacious, immaculately cean and a good size. The room has a small fridge and safe as well as tea making facililities. Breakfast was lovely and the the Laimer family could not be more friendly and inviting. Haus Mayerhofer is situated right in the centre of St. Gilgen yet there is no noise or dispruption. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Hong KongKitchen area is not big, ok for use. Back of garden area got some cow dung smell. Town is quiet during our stay, most cafe, hotels and resturants are closed.
We stayed at Apartment 6, with few stairs to reach on lst floor. Clean and new decor, the two rooms can house 4 people. Have all required kitchenware, location can be reached by walk or Eur10 by taxi from St Gilgen bus station. To walk up for 600meters, there is big supermarket and bus stop for Mondsee or Salzburg.

Beautiful typical Bavarian chalet in great area.. Perfect location in the middle of town but easy to get to. With parking. This was our favorite place to stay on our 2 week trip. The main floor apartment was very big and had all we needed. It was comfortable, clean and we enjoyed being able to have some room. Barbara made us feel right at home.

IrelandDarker curtains on the windows would be lovely to keep the early morning light out. Other than that we cannot find any fault with the property.
We stayed in a 2-bed apartment (with private balcony) for 10 nights. It was perfect for our needs (two adults and two children). The location was in the centre of the village, approx 5 mins walk from the lake and 5 minutes walk from the local Spar supermarket. The bus stop (St. Gilgen - Hollweger) was located beside the Spar shop and was very convenient for transport to places such as Salzburg, Bad Ischl/Hallstatt, Mondsee as we did not have a car. Barbara was lovely and very accommodating. Towels were provided and could be changed frequently. There is no washing machine in the apartment, but Barbara will wash/dry clothes for a fee, which is very convenient. Breakfast is available (additional charge). We did not avail of breakfast so cannot comment on it. We would definitely recommend this property and would look to stay again if we were in the area.
