The room was pretty basic considering we paid more to than double what we paid everywhere else in Germany and Austria. You are clearly paying for the location to be near the lake which was beautiful but the room itself wasn’t anything special. Check in and check out were chaotic with only one person working the desk both times and a line of people. This plus the obviously stressed staff was not super welcoming.

The location is great to be so close to the lake. Breakfast was very good.

The shower door makes a big bang sound when you close it and we thought it was going to break. There should be a silicone padding to prevent the glass door from hitting the glass shower. We were surprised there is no tub instead of the shower especially since the bathroom was so big and empty. There is no curtain on the smallest window by the bedside so we had to hide it with a book and clothes to not be awaken in the morning.

Loved the hotel room and view. really appreciated the fact that it was warm. Nice modern and cosy design, Seemed bigger than on the pictures. Staff very nice and helpful. Had to walk 5 mins on a slope path to get to the building where our room was but that's to be expected in a historical village district where the available property for hotels must be scarce. A 5 mins walk seemed totally fair to get a lake view in the town center.

they had 3 buildings of hotel stay. if you stay further up you would need to walk 5 mins, and long stairs up to your room. porter was helpful and helped us. but otherwise it is quite inconvenient if you have a few luggages with you. reception needs to improve on guest management, only one male reception was most helpful.

Breakfast was so so comparing to other hotels with similar price (in other nearby cities: Vienna, Salzburg , Munich), yet it is tourist place.

Location was perfect. Hence the view - quite sure there cannot be better view in the town. It is magnificent throughout the day as well as in the night (around 1 AM with clear sky) with stars.

This is not the fault of the hotel, but was not an ideal situation. It is not allowed to drive with a private car within the old city of Hallstatt. We had to park in nearby garage and the hotel organized a shuttle for the transfer back and forth. The problem is that sometimes the parking is full and you need to wait for a spot to free.

We made a short trip to Hallstatt and decided to book the Heritage hotel for its prefect location. We booked a superior double room, but received an upgrade to a suite on the top floor. The views to the lake and mountains were wonderful. We only stayed one night, but had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant which didn’t disappoint.

Our booking included dinner but the half board menu was quite restricted, you could only choose your main from 3 options (on that day it was a chicken curry, mushroom pasta or fish) instead of the full menu. I would suggest just booking a room only and going a la carte for dinner. The service was good though and super friendly bar staff!

The view from our balcony was stunning, and we loved sitting there drinking a bottle of bubbly. It was covered by the balcony upstairs so even though it rained we could still sit out there without getting wet, and we used blankets from the bottom of the bed to keep warm. There was a festival in a nearby town so at night fireworks were let off over the lake which we watched from bed. The hotel staff were all nice, with reception lending us a large umbrella for the evening. The bar staff were all super friendly and had a chat with us about football! When we arrived the carpark looked full with a man directing cars away to the other carparks but when we told him we were staying at the Heritage Hotel he let our car in and we found a space downstairs. We didn't use the hotel shuttle bus as we had light bags and it was only a 15 minute walk through town to the hotel.

Shuttle bus from parking area to hotel was disappointing. Had no problem finding it on arrival but there was no driver and a lot more people waiting than the bus could take. We landed up walking to our hotel. Thankfully it wasn’t raining! We were not aware until we went to pay for parking on leaving that there was a phone there to call the shuttle bus driver.

Location was excellent. Loved having a view of the lake and a terrace to sit out on. Room was clean and. curly decorated. Ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. All staff were pleasant and helpful.
