How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast was slightly overpriced, however this was a very minor critique as there was a plethora of choice.
Service was excellent, all staff were very friendly and willing to cater to our needs. Kudos to the bar manager who made us signature cocktails tailored to our tastes. The room provided everything that we needed and was to a good cleanly standard. The hotel served as a perfect base for exploring the city with great information as to activities and sights to see.

Perfect location, in city centre, close to Rathaus and Hofburg. The hotel was really clean and beautiful. Service was excellent, with Balmain products in the bathroom.It was a premium experience

One of the best breakfasts we've ever had - better than some five star hotels Lovely relaxing lounge bar Lovely bedroom - very comfortable bed We used the underground carpark which was so very convenient And we were warmly welcomed on our arrival

The room was incredibly small, to the extent of feeling claustrophobic. Could barely fit around the bed. Not a problem for me as I stayed one night and was barely in it. But bear in mind if you plan on spending more time.
The hotel was very well positioned and the staff exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. It's a beautiful old building.

The decor was beautiful and interesting, the hotel was close to the old centre of the city with enough walking to get good exercise during the visit. There was a very tasty breakfast with plenty of choice. The staff gave me great advice re eating out nearby and were very friendly.

The stay at this hotel has been great. First of all I would like to highlight the kindness and attention of the staff at all times. The hotel is new and the decoration is very nice. The room was comfortable and very clean. The location of the hotel is perfect, next to the City Hall and Parliament. There is also a tram stop about 75 m away for easy connections to the rest of the city. Breakfast is very good, varied and of quality. If I return to Vienna I would like to stay at this hotel again.

Lack of organisation re room cleaning.. i arrived back at the hotel at 4pm one day to find my room had not been cleaned, there were no towels as they had all been taken and no bin in the bathroom. Most of the staff were excellent but on one occasion I went the day before check out to pay my bill ( to save time next day) and the guy on reception was not happy. Additionally he tried to charge me for a bottle of water I had never had and when I told him that was wrong he stated "well thats what the computer says"! I was seriously angry about that. The hotel staff need to be very careful not to put additional charges on the bill and def need to accept they may have made a mistake! The single rooms are well laid out but get very warm and the air conditioning needed to go on every day, this despite it not being that warm outside mid April. Something to bear in mind if travelling in the summer. Both myself and my friend noticed the heat in the rooms. Finally the drinks in the bar are very expensive (yes they generally are) however I did notice there were no drinks menus either so you were not aware of the prices before you ordered, only when you came to pay. Be careful when you arrive and ask about the prices first. Particularly the cocktails which were 17 euros each!
The decor and breakfast. The hotel design was lovely and there was a good range of food available for breakfast. The restaurant staff were without fault and were cheerful helpful and attentive.

The room was always too hot. And the large pillows were uncomfortable.

Breakfast was bountiful and the service was excellent. We had a varied selection each morning. Very tasty eggs served in a variety of ways. Also, the porridge was delicious.

Loved everything about it
It has an unique decoration, the room was incredible, with all the things we needed and everything new, fancy and clean. Great value for the money and the men who received us at the lobby was absolutely lovely.
