Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. This Vienna apartment was fantastic! The location is ideal, close to the Prater park, which is also perfect for exploring the city. Checking in was a breeze thanks to the key code entry system, and there were no hassles at all. The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious, especially for the price. It's decorated beautifully with modern touches, and all the appliances and furniture seem brand new. This made for a very comfortable and stylish stay. Overall, I can't recommend this apartment enough. It's perfect for anyone looking for a well-located, spacious, and modern place to stay in Vienna.

United StatesThe place was roomy and clean. However, the service isn’t what you’d expect. We booked through booking and then received a private email that its an additional €10 per day for each sofa bed space you want to use other than the bed (€20 for the double sofa). When we were there the weather was warm (78f). When we called them about the AC that is mentioned on their website. They said that it only works when it’s very hot outside and we can’t use it now. When we asked if we can pay extra to have it turned on, the response we got was: it’s not America, open a window. Also, the hot water is definitely an issue. On the first day we were there, the water turned cold after 1 and a half showers (approximately 7 mins) after telling them about it they change some settings on the boiler and it didn’t happen again. But we were careful not to shower more than 2 ppl at a time. I also got an email from them after I left that the walls next to the bed were scratched and that they had to repaint. we obviously didn’t scratch any walls. They also give you a small garbage can with no additional bags to change. (We had it booked for 5 days). In short: Was a nice apartment , but bad service.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Urban-Jungle hotel apartment. While the photos and description on your website presented an appealing accommodation, the reality of my experience was far from it. 1. Intermittent Utilities: Throughout my stay, the electricity would spontaneously turn on and off. This was highly inconvenient and affected my plans and overall comfort. Additionally, there were days when I had no access to hot water, and, incredibly, some days without any water at all. 2. Service Quality: I encountered multiple instances of discrimination and experienced rudeness from the receptionist. The level of service was not up to standard. 3. Privacy Concerns: To my astonishment, there was a camera inside the room, a gross violation of privacy and against usual hotel practices. 4. Physical Environment: The room was uncomfortably hot, particularly at night. I suffered several sleepless nights due to internal construction noise and the excessive heat. I am still recovering from the adverse health effects caused by these conditions. 5. Unwarranted Intrusions: In a shocking incident, the owners entered my apartment without my consent or prior notification. Considering the above, my stay at Urban-Jungle was distressing, uncomfortable, and far from the quality of experience I expected when booking through your platform. I believe it is only fair to request either a full or partial refund for the grievous inconveniences I endured. I am prepared to share any necessary evidence to substantiate my claims. I trust Booking.com for my travel needs, and I am hopeful that you will take this matter seriously and rectify the situation. Thank you for your understanding and prompt attention to this matter.
