How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There were only curtains, no blinds to darken the room.
The room was very nice, comfortably furnished and very well equipped. Breakfast was very good, every request was met. The location was in the City Center and everything could be reached in walking distance. Further the hotel has a valet parking service.

Old style furniture that should be renovated.

We were there for 1 night and as we arrived at 3pm we were let know we can’t use the pool because a private event is hosted that day. We would have appreciated being let know about the event in advance as we could have timed our arrival differently. We were offered to go see the pool of a next door hotel if we wanted to use it instead, but maybe we could have picked to stay at that hotel from the beginning had we known about the event :) also some of the pictures of the property show everything in a better light than we perceived them on the spot. This doesn’t mean they don’t match reality, it’s just that the rooms look a bit newer and the pool area seems bigger in pictures than it is in reality. The difference is small though :)
The property was very clean and it’s very nice to walk around the hallways and be in a room where there’s art everywhere :) The staff was friendly and helped us book a table at Peppino, a very very nice Italian restaurant that seems to belong to the hotel.

a gem, just at the start of the old town, and at the feet of the schlossberg. lovely rooms, super cute little pool with a fantastic view over the town. my son forgot his sunglasses when we left and they were promptly sent over to our next destination. a clear recommend from us.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was amazing for traveling with a small child. This was our second time staying here and we love the art and terrace. The crib they provide is nice. There was a little confusion about when to clean the room...we left for a few hours in the morning and put the "please clean" sign up, but it didn't happen while we were gone. But, I called and asked them to do it at 2pm when we left again, and that was no problem :) I should have just asked at reception when we left in the morning. I can't wait until I have an excuse to go back to this place, it's so beautiful!

Not a single thing.
A real gem, this gorgeous little boutique hotel is *just* outside of the action, meaning it’s nice and quiet, but a very short 200m to the excitement of Graz. The art is delightful, the rooms spacious and the staff wonderful. Don’t miss the adorable garden and pool area, perfect for sundowners after a busy day exploring the lovely city of Graz.

We were a party of two adults and two kids. We stayed in a an apartment which is across the road from the main hotel. Really nice place, and in a perfect location for exploring the city, with great views of the city from the hotel pool on the roof top. The hotel and apartments are clean, nice size, and really funky with lots of cool art adorning the walls. Nice breakfast included. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fully recommended staying here, even though it is a little pricey.

The room was too small and there was too much furniture that didn’t quite wotk. Even worse, the curtains did not keep the street light out. It never got dark enough to sleep. The

Our room/studio was located in a modern building separate from the original hotel. The building and the apartment lacked any character or charm. This did not match the online description of the facilities.
The location of the hotel was good.

Location is great. Stuff is super friendly. Room was not very clean, spiders and spiderwebs next to our bed, over the shower, by the windows. Asked Reception to please fix it but only the most visible ones were cleaned. Not a good location with baby stroller.
