Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe parking is not guaranteed and you can end up driving around in search of the spot by the street. The church bell tower neighbourhood can have its fans for the easy central location pointer;) and antagonists, for the daily 7AM rather loud concerts;)
The hotel was offering a great price as compared to different places available nearby (mid-Aug'2023). We picked it for the 2+2 family Summer 2-day stay for the tour to the GrossGlockner High Alps Road and therefore the location was perfect. Two wow's! happened: one for the free nearby Aquapark (Solarbad Gastein) access coupons and the other one for the rich breakfasts with regional specialties. The staff were also very kind, helpful and communicative - thank you:) The room was well designed (I mean simple but nice looking, design-wise), had access to wooden balcony providing beautiful views to the area and was quite modern and clean - no flaws, rather standard +. Despite only 3 floors the hotel provides spacious elevator. There is water with citrus available free of charge for the thirsty guests, by the reception. Lobby and the restaurant design is really welcoming and favourable. There is wifi available but we had no time to take advantage of it - due to being hungry to walk around the village and dip into its aura. I saw ski-storage room for the Winter visits, too, and there was a spa facilities which we did not have a long enough stay to take advantage of - but they existed. Besides, beautiful and super-clean shared toilets on the underground floor.

AustriaWe'd appreciate if breakfast would start a bit earlier since we have early roaming toddlers and the coffee would have been of far better quality.
lovely breakfast in a stunning room, hotel was easy to find on a beautiful location, nice and cosy room. We got the family suit for 4 people, it was enough for one night's sleep.. There's free parking around the corner of the hotel. The hotel cooperates with the local Thermal spa Felsentherme and you can buy discounted tickets, they even provide the towels for the spa :) Not bad at all

SloveniaContemporary design works great in common areas, but is not ideal for the rooms. Very soft and low quality mattress.
Nice location in the village centre, hotel is modern but still blends in well. Room was spotless clean. Great breakfast and very helpful staff.

HungarySome of our group found the mattresses soft. I found the pillows big (but I “borrowed” a smaller one from the sauna room). The showers open right into the room so make sure you are in a room together with someone you are comfortable with because you have to leave the shower either naked or in a towel. There are no towel holders or hooks close to the shower. Unfortunate that there is no pool. Also no billiard table or air hockey or other things for bigger kids (at least this way they went to bed relatively early).
The rooms were modern and clean. Good sized with extra chairs and table. Staff was excellent - friendly and helpful. No staff complained to us even though we were a big group and our kids took mattresses into other rooms to sleep together! The staff was very accomodating in the dining room as well, making us up 2 big tables and dealing with all our special needs! All the while with smiling faces! Terrific! Breakfast was delicious with many different things to eat: cereals, fruit, cold cuts, eggs (both scrambled and hard/soft boiled...one day sunny side up as well), bacon, a selection of buns bread and croissants, jams, etc. Dinner was good as well with soup, salad, cheeses and dessert besides the main dish. The sauna and relax room were nice as well.

The staff of the hotel are very friendly. We arrived earlier than the check in time and we were allowed to check in earlier. The hotel and the room are very clean. Variety of breakfast offering is excellent. Dorfgastein is a small but very pretty village. Lots of dining choices and close to most of Gastein attraction! Overall, an excellent stay!!

LithuaniaThe meal - breakfast and dinner was politely saying very very "scarce and simple". And some dishes - I wondered if chef had any cooking education. Maybe understandable with pandemic and personell change, but I would suggest to skip dinner and rather dine in across the street pizzeria.
The room was quite ok, but i would question "smart" shower which is opening directly into the room - strange design and not very convenient.
