Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWi-Fi was unreliable Bathroom light was not working The wash basin was too small to accommodate any toiletries Bathroom door was an eyesore as it was damaged (chipped and scratched) and should be repainted. There were no racks for the towels, which made drying them very difficult.
Close to Burwood Station Friendly and helpful staff Offered a quite room as requested

United StatesWedged open window that was stuck partially open. Outlets were a little sparse. And calling it Bed and Breakfast is a little exaggeration as far as I am concerned. Toast and cereal is more like it. Hardly a breakfast.
The location was perfect for my trip. It was only a short walk to the train station. Many restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. Ventilation/air conditioning was OK.

AustraliaI was sure I had paid on Booking.com, but then was asked to pay again on arrival. When I asked the receptionist/worker, she said it didn't go through online. Weird as I was sure it did. Had to check my account a few times to make sure I wasn't double charged. Asked for extra amenities when booked online. Didn't get any. Whenever I would go to reception, it was closed, so I didn't bother. Luckily I happened to have an extra small bar of soap with me, which I had from another hotel I stayed at previously. It was a little bit too pricy for what it was ($180 for one night). A little run down also. The en suite bathroom was too small and cramped. Reminded me of an aeroplane toilet! Funny how you have to take a big step up to get inside. Not very safe. Shower 🚿 was a little fiddly to get the temperature right, and the hot water was temperamental. Quite a bit of mould was noticeable in the shower. Light in room was dim and could barely see at night. A candle 🕯 would have honestly provided better lighting! Aircon was not working properly. TV only had basic channels - no Foxtel or Netflix, etc, and WI-FI kept dropping out.
Stayed here due to convenience, as I had to attend an event at Burwood RSL right next door. It was also in close proximity to the station, shops, cafés, and restaurants. I was surprised that my room was actually quite clean, considering the reviews. Lady at reception was quite welcoming. It's good that they offer a continental breakfast.

AustraliaBathroom door was broken but I really didn’t care. Dark room as no great windows to get light/fresh air. But these things really didn’t bother me as we purely used the room to quickly get ready to go out in, and then used it for sleeping.
Great value for money, very close to train station. Beds were nice and clean. Great location if you want to go to Olympic park. Would definitely stay here again if we have lots of things on and going to be out and about the whole time and purely just needing a bed to sleep in.

AustraliaIt was hard walking into the room noticing the stench of stale cigarette smoke in my room and it lingered the whole of my stay which didn’t make it so pleasant, I ended up spraying my room with my perfume multiple times because it wasn’t pleasant to smell and also brought a candle to make the room smell better . The bathroom was the worst with the stale smell of cigarette smoke it was like I had just walked in after someone had a smoke in my bathroom and made it hard to have a shower or do anything , it was pretty disappointing considering it was a non smoking hotel .
It was a comfy place to stay and nice quiet place with a spacious room :)

BrazilThe bathroom is extremely small and not very confortable to move around. Also, the breakfast was not good, with only toast and some cereals with coffee and tea - for the price we paid (more than $160 per night), it was definitely not good and lacked better itens. However, the price is unfortunately alligned with the abusive prices of Sydney and a bad breakfast is better than no breakfast for most people.
The hotel was well located close to Burwood Chinatown and only 15 min from Sydney CBD by express train. About the place, the bed was confy and the room had minibar and microwave. The aircon was also good and the staff friendly.

AustraliaWe aksed for a second towel as there was two of us and never received this. The toilet and bathroom were very small and on top of each other. We understand that space is tight but it appears that the bathroom has been added onto the room and the step is very high and slippery when wet and getting out of the shower as there is no room to dry yourself in the bathrrom.
The staff were friendly and willing to accomodate a late check in which was very appreciative.

AustraliaThis was a beautiful old mansion and there was no information about the history of the house freely available. For a place with ‘Breakfast’ included in the name, this place has a long way to go. All that was on offer was toast and cereal and sachets of coffee and tea. This place really was budget, we got what we paid for. Will be spending an extra $50 dollars next time I come to Sydney to get something a little bit more opulent and comfortable.
Convenient location, relatively quiet. There was a working fridge, fan and aircon.
