How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Left the balcony door open for a breeze and about 4am Saturday morning they had street cleaner trucks coming through. Nothing to do with the hotel, but thought people who stay should know, so they wouldn't miss out on sleep in.
Location is superb! Room was clean and comfortable with lovely big balcony. Upstairs pool and spa are lovely and great views over the Cairns at rooftop. Most probably best views in Cairns to be honest.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Bed comfortable. Very close to railway station and across the road from the shopping plaza. Had everything we needed for a 2 night stay before we caught the train back to Brisbane.

The location was excellent, nearby a large shopping centre and within 10 minutes to the train station, 15 minutes to the cairns centre , (by foot). The room was spacious and had facilities for eating. The cleanliness was excellent. All round fine value for money

The decor was dated and that's fine, but there were some stains in the carpet and couch which were not nice, so the furniture and floors could definitely be updated. Also, since we were travelling with kids and ate multiple meals in our apartment more cutlery would be good (ie more than 4 spoons, 4 forks etc)
Central location was perfect. Shopping centre with everything opposite the hotel, or a 15-20 minute stroll to the pier and Lagoon. Nightlife a block away. Hotel facilities were good - everything you need: washer and dryer, dishwasher, shower and bath, living areas, full kitchen with everything.

The connecting door between the apartments was inadequate in stopping noise. Our neighbours were noisy and it was as if they were in our apartment. Although there were two adults in the apartment we were only issued with one keycard which led to some complications.
We found the location to be excellent, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the attractions of the Esplanade. The studio apartment was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. We received an extra clean mid stay which was appreciated.

Hot water was more like lukewarm. Signage for visitor parking is confusing needs to be clearer.
Perfect location opposite the shopping complex. Easy walk to the esplanade.

Was promised a room with a detatchable shower and in the next room - we had to move - a bath. Neither room had what was promised - just a shower with a fixed head. This as disapointing.
Great central location 10 minutes walk back from the 'beach', with all the facilities one might want or need.

Though you can only smoke on the open air balcony's the nature and construction of the building naturally brings the cigarette smoke into the room.
Location was good room was clean and tidy and acess to the complex even though after hours was well organized.

Heavily perfumed cleaning agents used in the corridors were bit cloying..
Location, ideal 200 meters from where I needed to be and within easy walking of the city center. The room was clean and tidy, the staff provided for late arrival from a railway tour (18:45). Laundry facilities available.

Would have appreciated more information about the appliances and could not use the oven because there was no oven proof baking dish.
The spaciousness and balcony and the location in central Cairns. We lacked nothing that we needed and the comfortable bed and furniture made it easy for us to have the resful break we hoped for.

Ordered a room with 2 twin beds, however the room only had a a queen size bed upon arrival. The staff provided a fold out single bed and the room furniture had to be re-arranged to fit the fold out bed. The hotel does not provide rooms for twin beds only. Booking.com is to blame as when booking online it stated that the room could be made into a twin room but this is not the case according to the hotel manager. Almost spoilt our holiday.
Convenient location, clean and affordable. Great views from the balcony.

My booking specified 1 queen bed and 2 single beds. On arrival we had 2 queen beds. This made our stay difficult with 2 teenage boys - I had to buy an air mattress for one of them to sleep on.
