Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEverything about the room was perfect, only thing we didn't like was we had been looking forward to scones at the cafe and were disappointed it was unexpectedly closed while we were there.
Stunning location, incredible view of the lighthouse day and night (even from the bathroom!) with beautiful view of sunset and sunrise visible after a short stroll from the accommodation. The studio itself is adorable; the furnishings are on point, bed is super comfy and a plentiful continental breakfast is provided. Internet worked fine and the studio had Telstra phone service as well. This has been the highlight accommodation of our trip so far!

United StatesIt was not the best space for 2 couples since one bedroom doubled as the kitchen area. Better for a family.
Stunning location - ruggedly beautiful. It was cozy and comfortable. The red hot water bottles for warming the beds were a fun touch. The breakfast provisions were delicious - especially the jam. And the scones at the cafe next door!! Amazing.

AustraliaWe liked everything about it.
The location was excellent. After the public left the site, we and the other few guests had the place to our selves. So we explored to our hearts content.

AustraliaThere should be a hair dryer supplied. The room is quite dark.
Fabulous continental breakfast with top quality local produce, and real coffee and coffee plunger! The room is quite small, but the small landing is great for eating on in good weather. Loved the decor, including the oar on the landing wall. It was full of nice touches, such as the reading materials, coloured pencils and paper, small DVD collection, historic framed photographs on the walls. The kitchenette was fully equipped with knives, forks, spoons, plates, bowls, mugs, cups, glasses and wine wine glasses.

AustraliaLocation is amazing. If you like walking, the Great Ocean Road Trail is breathtaking, secluded beaches, and the fact that we had most of the beaches we went to by ourselves is a great feeling. We were lucky that the weather was the best we have seen all year, blue sky, not a cloud to be seen, 24deg and just amazing sunrise and even better sunsets from the lighthouse. The Lighthouse Keepers Cottage had a full kitchen so we fed ourselves when we wanted to, no TV and limited internet via the phone, so we talked to each other, what else to do :- ). The Cape Cafe is a nice place for scones and jam, cakes and a selection drinks. Staff were just the best, so warm and friendly! When the Park closes at 5 and the day visitors leave, the place is so quiet and the local wildlife comes out. We will be back again next summer to kick off where we left this one.

AustraliaThere is no wifi or TV stations, which is fine. And part of the charm. However, a lot of the DVDs provided just don't work. They really need a refresh. Also, there is only a microwave to cook and closest restaurants 30km away....I think a little electric frypan would be useful ...we ate out at lunch and had dips and cheese for dinner so it was fine but people just need to be aware you can't really cook much. We couldn't access the Lighthouse this time due to a mercury spill months ago....I feel this should have been disclosed upfront given the price we paid.
We have been before but stayed in a different room this time. We love the remoteness, the quiet, and just relaxing with the amazing view at sunset with no one around. The Lighthouse B & B room was very spacious and comfortable. However, this place may not be for everyone as it is at least 30km drive to nearest town and not an easy drive at night if you wanted to go out.

The fact that it was a historical place. Had a talk delivered about the lighthouse and how hard to work and live there in the 1840's We stayed in small cottage with a little deck that was built for lighthouse assistants. Loved the history, the solitude and the wildlife
