The two fire alarms at 3.30am and 5.30am - these things happen, but there was a distinct lack of response/ apology/ explanation in the morning. A ‘ I’m so sorry! Have a coffee on us’’ or something would have gone a long way as it sounded like it was down to poor maintenance. Bar service and food service was five star, and generally the place was excellent though.

Tired rooms. Lack of value for money in the restaurant.

I love the location which is why I stay in this hotel it is right on the beach and walking distance to some nice restaurants. I have stayed before so I knew what to expect. I got a great deal which provided value for money given the venue is starting to age. The women on reception were a pleasure.

We had a loft suite with the bedroom and ensuite upstairs and the living areas and 2nd bathroom downstairs. Unfortunately our ensuite shower leaked into the downstairs shower which had obviously tried to be temporarily patched up prior to our arrival. This was quite inconvenient and when I reported it, I was told there would be a maintenance person coming to have a look that day. I never had any feedback as to what actually had transpired. I had to go back to reception and enquire as to what the prognosis was, which was it has to be investigated more, so to continue using the downstairs bathroom. We were not offered any apology or compensation for the inconvenience caused over our 3 night stay.

Location is beautiful. Our balcony had views of the beach (50 m away).

Where you park the car and covering the door was full of spiders which made it difficult to convince my daughters this was a nice place to stay

Most facilities weren’t operating .. all locked up at night with barely any lighting .. no lighting in grounds .. I think because low season and to be fair they dealt with a cyclone a month or so before

I stayed in the separate building called the rainforest building. It was easy walking to the main building. I was disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open for anything other than breakfast ( due to wet/low season) which meant for us in the other building we didn’t really have access to seating to take in the view of the water at the hotel and there wasn’t enough seating around the pool.

This was not part of Castaway resort. If it says 'seperate property' it means rainforest resort. Paid $180 for a cheap room. Look elsewhere. Bathroom needed work. Rough repair job on tub and corners black. Cheap Reno job.

Only 12 sun loungers by pool, not good on days resort was full and not helped when our neighbours being family of 4 chose to claim 4 loungers every morning with their towels. Outdoor seats by bar area can not be moved from area so we made a lot of use of our own camp chairs. Pools are narrow and too small when resort is busy. For what we were paying for our beachfront rooms would have expected room furniture to be in better condition. With all the glass around pool areas the noise echoed and at times was not enjoyable.

Location is perfect for being right on the beachfront. Handy to walk into town. Room was a good size

The service by the staff In the restaurant, very slow service the first night and then the second night we ended up giving up and walked out as sat there for 25 minutes waiting for our drink order so went and ate elsewhere.
