The bathroom tap was loose. We worried that it would fall off. The bathroom floor tiles, while clean were not to the standard expected - old and scatched. They need replacing. The motel buildings look like a work in progress. So much potential for such a wonderful location, but still alot of work to be done to make them better. The painting of the exterior has been done well. Some of the the outdoor furniture was falling apart and the garden needs maintenance and new plantings. The signage is old and needs to be upgraded - it shows its age.

The location is very special, right on the edge of Burrill Lake.

The motel looks run down from the outside, but the interiors have all been renovated. There was no manager onsite. There was no housekeeping.

The room was beautifully furnished, spacious, and had an amazing view from our room overlooking the lake. The barbecue area was well appointed. Having a waterfront location was very special.

Bathroom was not very well cleaned, could smell of a urine once you walked in, I’d suggest improvement.

Great location with an awesome bakery/coffee shop nearby (walking distance). Handy lock boxes in front of each unit makes very convenient for the arriving guests.

Excellent location right on the lake and a very short walk to the beach. Room was big, and clean. Amanda was fantastic, we had a power outage one night and she keep us informed via text message as to what was going on and updates. Can not fault, highly recommended. Had a lovely little bbq area with sink to do dishes etc.

Great location right at the edge of the lake. The room we were allocated wasn't the one we booked (we required 2 beds) but the owner was very apologetic and accommodating and changed rooms for us, and even offered us an additional room if we didn't like the alternate room. The motel rooms are part way through being renovated and having peaked in a reno'd room and hearing of the new owners plans I'm excited to see what it will look like on a return visit. But in the meantime the unrenovated rooms are still comfy and clean. Would highly recommend The Edgewater.

Freshly renovated motel, clean and comfortable. Located close to the lake’s edge and the main highway but surprisingly quiet. A small group of local shops are conveniently close for any basic supplies and fish & chips and an excellent bakery. I would return again to stay another time.

Windows had some large cobwebs which hadn’t come in just one night. Check out was 10. 11 would have been better as we checked out on a Sunday.

Good value for money. Quiet location near the lake (didn’t really notice the busy road close by). Good communication from the host. Two different types of pillows (one firm and one softer) which I really like. Good shower. A couch in the room and spacious still. Basic but had everything we needed. Free toiletries were handy. Good instant coffee. Air con. A seperate smoking area. Recycling area for bottles (we don’t this but it’s good the hosts have thought of the environment. I noticed a new looking bbq with a box with utensils - we didn’t use but would be handy for some people. Especially as there was a grassed area where kids could play safely

It's not so much about 'not liking' but realising a building constructed in a past decade won't likely have the visual and aesthetic assets that would give a real lift one's impression. Decades ago one would have had the option of breakfast delivered to the room. Nice, but this is not a necessary component of a motel stay. As the proprietors state openly, they don't service the rooms during your stay. Some might see these as weaknesses, but personally I prefer this more minimal approach, leaving me to be responsible for keeping the room in order and the bathroom tidy, and not go through heaps of towels etc. On the other hand the staff are very responsive when you ask. I prefer not to use soap, so would have liked to have some body/handwash gel instead. But this was easily solvable - I crossed the bridge at Burrill Lake and bought a bottle myself at the local store there by the post office.

The room and bedding was comfortable and clean. No dust. A hygienically clean wet area with almost zero incidence of mold stains, clean toilet, and no odours. Clean, soft, bright towels. Nothing about the location was noisy - being right next to the inlet was a positive. I did stay when it was less busy - however tranquility is the mood seemed to be reflected in the place. For me it was important to have good hot water available and this was so. Secure establishment with the staff living right above the units.

Nothing really. The property is older but really well looked after.

The property was spotless, Diane the manager was very friendly, it was well equipped and close to town, but far enough away that you felt like you had space.
