nothing could've been better except the weather and only Mother Nature can deal with that.

We were made to feel so very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Incredibly informative owners who volunteered information on places to go/things to do/see etc. We will definitely go back and recommend this place to family & friends.

this lovely little B&B sits in its own garden on the edge of a cassowary conservation area, from which it is not fenced. Hence the Lodge is often visited by passing wildlife, including several cassowaries whose territory this is. The other main attractions here are the splendid breakfast provided by Dawn, and the personalised tour guiding trips offered by her and husband Blair. While the rooms are small, they they are beautifully appointed, with considered attention to detail that make for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

    Can't think of anything

You’ve usually got an idea of how you hope a B&B is before you get there, and then its nothing like it! However, Licuala Lodge is exactly how I wanted it to be and much more so. The rooms were great, spotless and with a large balcony looking over the gardens. The gardens were beautifully done with masses of flowers attracting the butterflies. A Cassowary passed through pretty regularly and a friendly little Pademelon pottered about. Breakfasts were also great - can’t recommend the place highly enough. My partner managed to break her arm in Mission Beach and Dawn (she was on her own during our week), was very helpful and made the process a lot more manageable. Thanks Dawn.. we look forward to coming back.

Wonderful location with beautiful surroundings. The owners obviously care about every aspect of your stay and have put a lot of time and effort into the small details and were so welcoming. We stayed at Licuala just for a stop over and as soon as we arrived, we were gutted we weren't staying for longer, we really missed out on breakfast on the balcony with the stunning views! We had an early departure the next morning and they even prepared breakfast for us to take on the journey. The individual rooms were just fabulous, super clean and really comfortable. Definitely wanting to go back for a proper stay. Thank you

    Having to leave…

What a fantastic stay we had at Licuala. Rooms were spotless and the daily breakfast was amazing. We had the added bonus of seeing 2 cassowaries during our stay. Dawn was a lovely host who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Cannot wait to come back and stay next time we are up north again.

Licuala Lodge is a beautiful property, surrounded but lush serene gardens and rainforest. The rooms are spotlessly clean and functional with all the basics supplied. We had such a lovely experience there highlights included a lovely evening dip in the pool, a delicious (and accommodating to all dietary requirements) breakfast on the balcony with a view to die for and a once in a life time encounter with a cassowary right on the lawn! Will definitely be staying again to check out some more of the local attractions:)

The lodge is located next to a rain forest and it was a delightful setting. It was close to local beaches and very good restaurants. The owners were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we thank them for looking after us so well. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The pool was set in the attractive garden and we enjoyed a swim each afternoon.

It was a bit of a trek through the suburb to the nearest beach, but interesting nonetheless.

Licuala Lodge is located in lush tropical gardens with a lovely pool. Cassowaries roam through the gardens at regular intervals so visitors are likely to catch a glimpse of them. The Lodge is well set up for self-catering as well as offering a fresh and substantial breakfast each morning. We found Dawn to be an attentive host and a mine of information.
