Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGiven the good amenities and facilities the hair dryer is very small and weak. Similarly to my last visit it feels understaffed especially in the bar area where service was slow and unhelpful.
I have stayed at this Parador before and was looking forward to returning and was not disappointed. It’s a stunning building which has been beautifully restored. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Large beds, stocked mini bar with modern TVs.

SpainNothing at all!!!
An exceptional place to stay. Converted medieval building. Absolutely beautiful. Stunning, huge rooms, all different, excellent bathrooms. Superheated! A very good restaurant and bar area (standard prices for good wines and beer, nothing silly) in the cloisters. Quick easy access from Calle Monfrague with plenty of parking. Everything of importance in the city is within walking distance.

SpainNot so much that I disliked it, but it would be good to have some information about buses to Cáceres. There are no car hire companies in Trujillo and it's necessary to pick up a car in Caceres.
Superb, tastefully modernised, mediaeval interiors. Everywhere is superheated - important for February and March in Extremadura. All rooms, including the lower priced ones, are huge with excellent bathrooms. WiFi is great, large tv's with lots of channels at no extra charge. 3 minutes walk to the outstanding restaurants and buildings on the Plaza Mayor. All restaurants serve really varied, modern, award winning, Spanish Gastronomía - the best, and prettiest, food in the world.

PortugalParadores ... same old same old, should invest a bit in an update of the rooms, especially the beds, which continue to be very hard.

FranceNo outside seating in the sun.
Wonderful old building very close to the centre. Lovely rugs and furniture throughout. Crisp quality bed linen. Large bathroom. Comfortable armchairs and sofa in the bedroom as well as plenty of lounges and upper cloister seating. Efficient heating that could be turned down and which went off at night so comfortable for sleeping. Very reasonable room rate.

United KingdomFor the price one would expect tea/coffee making facilities in the room. And also a complimentary bottle of water. The things in the mini-bar (water, cola, orange drink, beer, and peanuts) were all rather expensively priced. Also a list of prices of these things would be handy, as it was not clear if these things were for free or not. Also a list, or booklet of info about the facilities in the hotel would be appreciated. It can probably all be found on-line, but not very quick or handy.

United KingdomThe hotel was very hard to find, in very narrow streets, twisty. A plan provided by the hotel would have been very helpful. A big disappointment was the fact that dinner was not served until 9.30 pm, far too late for us.. We walked into the town, about a 10 minute walk and there were very reasonable restaurants there. I would prefer to eat in a booked hotel knowing it has a restaurant. A last negative is that they charge for parking, 12 euro a night. I feel this is over the top.
The interior was very nice. Big comfortable double bed. Good breakfast.

United KingdomNothing - all excellent
Extraordinary classic old convent building with very generous space everywhere - the corridors were the old cloisters so are fabulous just to walk around. The place is totally idyllic and amongst the best of the paradors in Spain.

AustraliaThe lighting in the restaurant was very bright. The atmosphere would be improved with more subtle lighting as the food and service was good.
The hotel is an old convent and is spacious and comfortable, in a great position for walking around the wonderful old town. The staff were friendly and helpful - even helping us find Rugby World Cup games! Parking was easy. The room was large with a comfortable bed and lovely linen. Trujillo is certainly worth a visit
