It advertised the child stayed free then when messaged about a portacot there was an additional fee, so my baby could be at the venue for free just not have a safe sleeping arrangement without payment and the staff at the counter were condescending and not kind at all

Bathroom perfectly clean and maintained - my main need of accommodation. Main room needed a bit more attention behind and under furniture.

Return trip to National, staff and service exceptional, as always. Everything you need - great room, parking, brilliant food, pool, pub, laundry facilities - on site. Will be back again!

The room was located quite close to the airconditioner for the restaurant (I think) and so was quite noisy until about 11pm, or so it felt. In all other respects we had a very comfortable stay.

Our room at the National Hotel Complex was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. The aspect from the 1st floor balcony out to the pool and trees was lovely, and the whole place has a peaceful feel. After a day of driving we were exceptionally happy to discover there was a spa, which we jumped into after a quick dip in the (extremely cold) pool - what a wonderful treat for our weary travellers' backs! The National Hotel Complex is located very conveniently, too - a very pleasant walking distance from town, near the Bendigo Cathedral, and just opposite the Deborah Gold Mine. We didn't eat at the restaurant, not because it didn't look good, but because we wanted to walk into town, and once there discovered an absolute plethora of great restaurants! In the morning, on the hunt for coffee, we found an excellent cafe just a short walk from the hotel. I would thoroughly recommend the National Hotel Complex to other travellers. It's a great location from which to experience beautiful Bendigo.

Room space to move around and in-room cleaning services. The water kettle was unclean which I noticed in most of the hotels so not too fussed about it. Just used the microwave.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. They assisted us and made our stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and ready when we arrived.

The 2% charge for paying by credit card The 3 Harley's parked in front of our room with loud talking and the noise of them starting up and idling at 7:30 am was pretty annoying ,I have stayed there at least 4 times but not sure if I will go back again.

The spa in the room was small (you cant strztch your legs). The room was downstairs on the pool side behind massive hague so that the room was super dark. The view on the garden is from the front door that is also on the car park, so it's not a view on the garden.. no shampoo/conditioner, only sopa and shower gel and not in sustainable containers. Very limited 'kitchenware' (2 cups, 2 mini plates, 2 glasses and no poss to wash your dishes). The rooms upstairs with no spa are cheaper and have a balcony so it would have been a better choice. Not much soundproof either.. was expensive for what it was.

The staff was welcoming. The pool and the room were clean. Matrass was good.
