Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaEverything was ok.
Very nice and modern apartment, equipped with absolutely everything you might need, for longer or shorter stay. There is a lot of public parking available, although keep in mind it is not free (10kn/h in 2022).

GermanyLapad's jewel! Really an insider tip as an accommodation in dubrovnic. The host is very nice and helpful. We were welcomed very lovingly on arrival and were informed about everything important. if necessary, the transfer from or to the airport will be organized. The location is ideally situated between the port and the promenade to the sea. The bus stop / taxi rank is only a 5-minute walk away, You can be in the old town in no time. The apartment is modern, atmospheric and cozy. The garden has been laid out with a lot of love and invites you to sit outside. Everything has been thought of by the owner. We were constantly pleasantly surprised at what useful items were available. We miss Dubrovnic and the great Apartment.

MaltaFirst and foremost the accomodation said ‘airconditioned’. The bedroom was hot as hell in the evening and we barely slept. One of the air conditioners was malfuntional and when asked for a fan, she said she’ll deliver in the morning. That was fine for me. But this never arrived. Host also mentioned that the a/c in the living area should cool all the apartment. This wasn’t the case. Not to mention that the bed seen better days as the mattress felt like sleeping in a whole.

United KingdomIts well equipped- was nice to have things like washing machine. Iron, hairdryer. The owner left lots of little things like oil, loo rolls, sweets and a carton of apple juice in the fridge Although it’s spacious we thought the apartment was dark and a little dated. Theblock didn’t look like a ‘luxury’ apartment - in its day it probably was - it was quite central - a nice restaurant just in the corner called Maskeron and a supermarket 5 mins walk

GermanyCheck in instructions weren’t really clear and we accidentally entered wrong apartment only because owner uses same code for all their boxes with keys. We messaged the owner and got instructed how to get to the right apartment. Next, despite the fact that property description includes free parking in nearby streets, that’s not completely true. Owner told us to park in front of the building and then we got fined 130HRK for not having a parking ticket. Owner could mention to guests that buying a parking ticket is needed. Except that everything was perfect until the day of our departure. First, owner’s mother came and started shouting at us WHERE IS THE KEY WHERE IS THE KEY because she found only one of 2 keys at the table, making it really hard to focus on finding and giving it back. What happened next was that after ~1 hour owner’s mother called us and started shouting again. It was really hard to understand what she actually wants, but in the end it turned out that some decoration blanket from one of the rooms was missing. We said that currently we’re on a trip and all of our things are in the car, still parked in front of the building, but in few hours we can check if we haven’t taken it accidentally. I thought that the problem is solved but -30 minutes later the owner messaged me in a very harsh way, saying that during her 10 years of renting apartment nothing like THAT ever happened, in my opinion clearly suggesting in a passive aggressive way that we stole the blanket. She also said that it’s been reported to booking and my credit card will be charged. After we got back to the car it turned out that, indeed, we accidentally took it in a hurry, so we left it at the terrace and let owner know. I never heard back from her again. Another funny thing was that TV and AC remotes were all packed in foil, so it seems that the owner and her mother have some kin of unhealthy obsession with the apartment.
Apartment is very nice, modern, with good quality equipment. Perfect location for walks to the city center or to the local marina.
