How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing
For starters it’s not Gilligans. It’s very chill. Noise isn’t really an issue. Nice enough staff. Kitchen plus common area is nice. They even offer some free food at breakfast. In terms of location it’s ok, just have to be willing to walk 4 or 5 blocks to the water front. It’s good tho would recommend

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very social met some new friends. facilities where great and I loved the breakfast as well. I stayed in an en suite room and it was very clean, would definitely recommend staying here.

Imran and the staff were great, very helpful and welcoming from the start. The staff are very friendly and the partnership with the gym pass is a great bonus! Great kitchen facilities aswell!

The common area is not really clean: table, ground, swimming pool, kitchen… cleaning and tidying is don’t only once a day and it’s not enough. No personal lights in the shared dorms, only one big flashy one! Last point: hostel is kinda far away from the busy day and nightlife area (near by Giligan’s) by walk, like 20-25min.
Nice hostel to make friends, nice conformation, gym access for 1h/day in a fitness club 10min walk from the hostel, breakfast included (pancakes, cereals, bread, jam and peanut butter.

Room was excellent with attached bath. Both room and bathroom were clean with modern amenities. Breakfast was included (very basic). The crew were helpful. 10 mins walk to the marina and city centre.

Bit far away in comparison to other hostels. Wifi would disconnect every time you switched your phone off. One morning I was leaving for an excursion and it says free breakfast but there was no breakfast or anyone at reception to be seen :( no lockers in rooms either
Good sized rooms, social but not too loud. Water refill in reception ice cold yay!

There was a lower plank of the ceiling on the top bunk and I kept hitting my head there There were limited storage space in the room There were no benches in the shower stalls so we had to put our clothes on the floor. There was only one shower stall that had 3 hooks, the others all only had 1 hook.
It's a very good vibe and everyone are very friendly There is free breakfast and pancakes on weekdays There is a basin and mirror in the room. There is a charging point for each bunk bed

other guests in our share room where very messy. this obviously isn’t the hoses fault and we were just unlucky.
we used this hostel as a cheap stop over. it was what you would expect. sink in room was handy.

Some guests were a bit noisy after 11pm but not the hostel's fault.
Our room was clean and aircon working well, staff were friendly and helpful. We liked that we had a box to put our dry food in and lots of fridges to accomodate everyone.

No lockers in the room which made the room messy. Things from other travelers stayed in the room for ages as nobody knew who they belonged to. Some lockers or boxes would make that easier.
Nice common areas, nice free breakfast with pancakes. Bathrooms were clean.

The pancakes at breakfast were a nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are paid laundry facilities - washer, dryer and washing line. It's generally quite clean.
