Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaUnfortunately, like a lot of Australian hotels, the rooms are dated. They are in need of a freshen up especially for the price.
This hotel has a fantastic pool area with a swim up bar and plenty of sun loungers. Very family friendly. The location is also central in palm cove. We were grateful to receive a room upgrade at checkin. The property was also very quiet overall as it seems it wasn’t very busy after the cyclone.

AustraliaHighly priced ‘cocktails’ from the pool bar - but they were not individually made. They were on tap cocktails. 2nd/3rd bedroom had flimsy double door connecting the 2 rooms. Was not soundproof 2nd bedroom had no lighting apart from a dim bedside lamp
Great location. Close proximity to local cafes and restaurants. On the waterfront. Pool was lovely. Toddler loved the sand entrance pool.

AustraliaThe couch in our apartment was very uncomfortable, it had no support.
The two pools and abundance of lounge chairs met our needs . Our room was spacious and the addition of the laundry very helpful on our 4 night stay. We loved sitting on the balcony with our drink, nibbles and our books.

AustraliaI had only two small issues (and I've stayed here before and these are 'new'): 1. Leaf blowers. The noise generated by these things is horrible. They started around 7:45am and continued intermittently for a few hours. Around the pool where people are trying to relax. It needs to stop. 2. The pool bar. Opened late three times during my stay. There were no blenders (I understand a Cyclone Jasper issue). The staff do not pay attention to both sides of the bar so people regularly wait 10+ minutes for service. Some staff were great (the Canadian guy), others were terrible. When it's really hot, this facility is important and service should be far better.
The facilities are amazing - lovely garden setting on the main street of Palm Cove. My studio room was lovely - overlooked the pool, spacious, clean, great bathroom. Breakfast is very nice with generous serving hours and a good selection of options (fruit, cereal, breads, pastries, hot choices, coffee/tea/juice etc) The main pools are fantastic - beautiful temperature, clean, lots of lounges and areas to sit. Swim up bar is ok (see reference later).

AustraliaAll amenities weren't functioning which is understandable due to the recent weather events. There was a smell coming up through the drain in the bathroom with I think was from the recent floods.
The location was perfect! The staff were friendly. The pools weren't all working because of the cyclone and floods which is understandable.

AustraliaThe pool bar staff were rude, unorganised and too slow, particularly on Friday 26th. First my husband & I weren’t even acknowledged, then the girl started to make my cocktail and then went back to serving a large group. She was also having a quick sip of every drink she made! When I complained about the long wait I was told off “you have to be more understanding”!!!? after I waited over 10minutes and watched them in unorganised chaos. Why not call reception or someone from kitchen to come & help out? At the very least be nice to your customers - particularly when a cocktail was $24 each. There were empty glasses & cans left out all day and not picked up. The entire property needs more staff. We left early at 630am and although breakfast was included on last day we couldn’t even get a takeaway coffee or food to take away on our last day because “the machine takes some time to warm up, cone back at 7am”. Brainless
We got upgraded which was lovely. The three pools were also great. The pool bar staff however were rude

AustraliaThis is very specific to the circumstances of our stay due to the tropical cyclone. Peppers did a reasonably good job of keeping us informed of the cyclone situation and what it would mean for us as guests of the resort. We did however find some inconsistencies in communication between staff members and written documentation. The main impact was around food provisions during the cyclone. We were originally told the kitchen would remain open for in room meals only to find on the day that the kitchen would be closed. Not the end of the world, it was more that we did not stock up on food in our room as a result.
The large lagoon pool and swim up pool bar is a key attraction for us when we visit Peppers at Palm Cove. The breakfast provides a good level of variety with plenty of healthy choices. The staff are always friendly and make every effort to ensure our stay is as enjoyable as possible. We appreciated the staff remembering us from previous stays and thought the bottle of sparkling wine was a nice touch.

AustraliaThe resort is quite large so I found the place tricky to navigate the first time I went to my room. The staff were very helpful, though, and I soon figured everything out. One thing I would have liked is designated parking (i.e. parking in an allocated, numbered spot) since it wasn't always clear which spots were for residents and which were for guests - there seemed to be lots of handmade signs denoting resident parking only, which didn't give me much confidence that I parked in the right spot.
Lovely resort with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. I wish I'd stayed longer to enjoy more of the facilities.
