How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Many travelers carry multiple digital devices that need to be recharged daily. There was only one duplex outlet in our room - - not nearly enough to charge 2 mobile phones, a dongle, a laptop, a Nintendo Switch and a Kindle.
Within walking distance of restaurants, a lovely park and stores. Friend!y and helpful fella working the front desk.

We had asked for a quiet room, which hosts tried to accommodate so were facing away from the main drag. However pool was near our room and others were noisy early in the morning as pool opens at 7am. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Also be aware there aren't power points near the bed, so we got an extension cord for my hubby's cpap machine.
Location was perfect, lots of places to eat and shop close by including grocery stores. Beds were comfy. Hosts were lovely, provided extra pillows, pool towels, super easy after hours check in.

Had a problem trying to get just ordinary TV programs. Had been out of internet/phone for 2 weeks & just wanted to get news & weather. Disappointed. Not used to all these alternative programmes. The advice from the desk lady did not work. An offer to come & do it for me would have been greatly appreciated. M. Milne.

The fluorescent light in the bathroom was annoying because it took so long to come on in a room with no natural light.
The room & facilities were basic but clean & more than adequate. The location gave us walking access to the places we wanted to see while in Darwin

Check in was easy and the man at reception was was friendly.This hotel is very basic. Room had double bed and single bed. Was ok however we feel could have gotten better for the price we paid. Yes it is close to main street of Darwin with eateries and shopping croc cove etc however we were kept awake all night by people walking by (this didn't happen in our other hotel 2 minute walk away)

The room including the bathroom was quite old and outdated. Expensive.

The bed was shockingly bad to sleep on. They had just renovated the bathroom and to be honest it was very nice but unfortunately the plumber hadn't done their job properly and the toilet leaked.

I had been assured ahead of time that my request for a powerpoint near the bed had been responded to. I had explained this was necessary for my CPAP Machine which I need to use every night for sleep apnea. There was no powerpoint or extension cord provided. I would have been in a very difficult position (ie. sleeping on the floor) if I had not had to buy an extension cord on my travels anyway. Something as important as this shouldn't be missed. Also, the night manager was very rude.
The room was comfortable and clean.

The manager was not friendly, and really avoided any contact.
Location is great. Hotel is old and basic, but does the job, is clean and functional. Lots of things are tired and could do with an upgrade, but then the price would probably go up! The cleaning staff are great, super friendly.

Older decor but I believe this might be the standard for the area. The door to your apartment don’t seem too secured despite the double lock.
Good location and check in was easy considering we arrived late.
