The hosts were very helpful. Room was very clean. There was a fridge and a kettle also. Close to beach and town,but quiet location,with a terrace.There was also a light breakfast included in the price. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location! We initially booked 2 nights, but we liked the Hostal and the area so much, that we extended our stay with one night.

Not a big deal but to improve, the hotel could benefit from providing higher quality bath products (soap shower gel and shampoo) as well as consider more modern decoration.

Room is big, clean and comfortable. There is a small balcony. Hotel facilities are great with several outdoor terrasses, nice to take breakfast in the morning. location is convenient.

Everything was good!

Great value and location close to the beach and restaurants. Very quiet, and it was great to have a private terrace. As a perk, the owner offered a free and very varied breakfast. There was also a dry climate garden with labeled plants and their country of origin. Very much enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay there again.

Liked everything about this hotel, location was great towards the back of the town but only a five minute flat walk to beach and centre. So green around the hotel with all the trees, great terrace and so many areas outside to sit and the provision of books and games was great, as was the fridge in the room to keep drinks cool. The pool and pool area was really good with chairs and sun loungers and so clean. The room was spacious and really well equipped the shower was great. However, the best part were the friendly and helpful staff, especially the receptionist who made some phone calls for us in Spanish to a local garage. Also a free unexpected breakfast which was really extensive in a designated room. Could not fault it.

Maybe somewhere to sit outside would be great, but not essential as there are many bars around.

The building and its decor were wonderful, the staff very helpful and everything was really close at hand. We had a great stay and will definitively come back.

The hotel is in a quiet road, a few steps away from the main attraction and the beach. Staff was always kind and helpful. The swimming pool is small but very clean. Our room was very spacious and with a small and cozy terrace. Everything was good.

A very cosy well-kept marine themed hotel in San Jose. Clean spacious rooms, smooth check-in experience, easy to park a car in the street next to the hotel. Bed and pillows were comfy, and the location is quiet. Complementary breakfast was a pleasant surprise! Would gladly return!

We liked everything!

We had a wonderful time staying at Hostal Puerto Genoves and loved the rustic charm of San Jose. The owners were really helpful and friendly. Our room was well equipped with a good fridge,an enormous and comfortable bed. Also the owners provided us with a an electric kettle on request. The bathroom was well fitted with an impressive shower system in the bath giving lots of hot water. The pool was an additional bonus. Breakfast provided everything we could want in a continental style breakfast.You could help yourself and even take a tray to your balcony if you liked. The balcony with our room was large, private and overlooked the well tended garden. The property is within a few minutes easy walk to all amenities - supermarkets, beach, village square and the bus stop to Almeria. We had some amazing coastal walks in each direction and there are also interesting inland walks for next time!
