The hostel is above a kind of greasy-feeling pub and outdoor bar that plays loud music late into the night. Our room was very, very simple, with a bed frame and fridge, but the fridge was covered in dirt and stains. The kitchen was okay, but the markings around the stove and oven controls had worn away completely, so it was really hard to use - you couldn't tell which hob or oven you were turning on, or how hot you had turned it to. No lockers for securing our luggage.

This is a good value stay and the place reflects the cheaper price. The room had a working fridge which was clean on the inside. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, showers were nice and powerful. Staff were pleasant.

this place is next to a bar, the music is so loud and disturbing. there are no curtains in the bed, no private light, and also no electric socket next to the bed.

Comftable stay and close the cairns central shopping centre also has a bar next door and also had $10 dollar deal for staying at The jack backpackers had a good sleep.

You could have at least a table with a chair in your room. Pretty basic. The sinks where in the middle of the common area to use them with everybody and I missed a place where to hang my wet clothes.

The best think was probbaly the location and the terrace.

Nothing about the property was a problem, it was the rude backpackers that sat and talked loudly outside the room until 3 am. I had to get up and ask then to go somewhere else because I needed to sleep.

The most important problem is the air conditioner set to automatically turn itself off after few operation hours. This is very ridiculous and made our sleeping very uncomfortable in such hot and humid city. The soundproofing is bad, while the noise from the common area and the pub next to the hostel are loud. The furniture is quite old. The bathroom can be easily flooded. Wifi is not good. Shared kitchen equipment is in poor condition.

The location is within the walkable distance from Reef Fleet Terminal, supermarkets, and restaurants. Driving from the hostel to the airport takes no more than 20 minutes. Staffs are very friendly and supportive. They organized our late check-in and allowed us deposit luggage after check-out.

As per normal hostel bunk beds the bunk I slept on seemed to be exceptionally squeaky, the pillows had almost no stuffing and felt like I didn’t have a pillow. During my stay the roof was being replaced in the communal area so being woken up at 7:30 by drilling wasn’t the best but I’m sure that this isn’t a normal/ regular occurrence when staying here.

Good strong WiFi, nice big balcony space outside to chill and eat etc, good pressure showers with lots of space, I don’t really care but guest should be aware that bathroom facilities are communal between boys and girls. Good deal on backpacker meals and like how you get a general discount on food there

The AC doesn’t make the air in the room cool at all. Lack of sockets. The music in the bar next door really loudly at night. The shower in the bathroom couldn’t keep the position on hold and they don’t seem to fix it. Kitchen is dirty but they have all facilities. However the stoves in kitchen is really old school, couldn’t use it

We were happy with our accommodation but the pillows were very thin. We were given extra pillows on our first stay but none were available for our return visit.

The location was perfect for what we needed and also a short walk to the shopping center as well as the Esplanade. The air conditioning was a lifesaver!

This property is above and adjacent to a pub with loud music til 2am. I don’t remember reading this in the booking, and wouldn’t stay here again.

Low price and comfy beds. Location close to train station and reef boat check in. Guests were respectful. Front desk was polite and accommodating.

We had the private bunk bed room for two ppl, aircon and vent, mini fridge, mirror and few hangers, it just needed a small table to be perfect. Showers and toilets were clean and always available, kitchen accessories could’ve been cleaner (but that is up to the guest I guess). Overall good value for money with all you need

The maze like hallways, the hallways got very hot, the bar was almost always empty and the backpackers didn’t go there for some reason.

The location was great for the price. Just a 10 minute walk to the harbor area and lots of food and a grocery store very close by. It was very hot in Cairns so we appreciated having a fan and AC unit in the room so we could cool down at night.

The kitchen wasn’t open early enough for the tours we were doing and a lot of the hobs in the kitchen did not work amazingly. Some where the get tap water would have been nice.

It had a great location with everything in walking distance and easily accessible for the trip companies to collect us. It was humid and hot in cairns and the cooling aircon in our room saved us. The shower worked well and other facilities were decent enough. It was good value for money and although there was music playing it wasn’t too loud and did not disrupt us.
