This was my third stay at The Old Clare. Huge rooms, the king size bed is very comfortable, clean towels every day. The location is perfect- easy walk into the city or into Surry Hills. And the rooftop pool… amazing.

We were told that swimming pool would be available before our check in time so we arrived very early. Unfortunately a private function was on so we were unable to access it; a real disappointment. However we were compensated more than adequately - many thanks to Sacha at reception who was fantastic.

Only downside was that when we were there the pool was super busy and there are not many seats next to it.

Our room was very nice with lots of character. The bathroom was stunning. The pool was beautiful and very nice temp. Great location, breakfast downstairs was yummy.

The see through shower walls! You'd not want to be sharing a room with someone you don't mind seeing naked... The pool was not as big as the photos and it was a little awkward going for a swim whilst the bar was being hired out for a birthday party!

If we could have we would have stayed an extra night and made more of what the hotel and location offered. I would happily return to The Old Clare Hotel.

We really liked the cool vibe of the hotel, the vintage style art in our room and in the foyer / reception area. The staff were very cool and chatty. We loved the location and "Spice Alley" was a bonus.

The Old Clare is my favourite place to stay when visiting Sydney. The location close to Central Station is extremely convenient. The staff are always welcoming and provide excellent service. The proximity to Spice Alley and surrounding restraunts provides the traveller a wide variety of eating options during their stay. Value for money is quite good.

Location was very noisy (on the weekend) and not so convenient for our needs. Gym is very token.

Building and rooms ooze art deco design smarts; quality amenities; the staff were helpful. Excellent breakfast cafe and lots of food options nearby.

Room service took a really long time but it was Christmas Eve so they could have been understaffed.

Pool and rooftop bar were amazing. Location was excellent. Staff were super friendly. Rooms were lovely and big, clean, high ceilings.

It was a little noisy at night due to a wedding music across the lane.

The room was as described and the location was perfect we walked everywhere . The pool was a lovely treat in the morning.

Please heat the pool! And maybe turn down the music at the pool area, could not hear my friends talk and I.m not that old!

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the area is fantastic. We had one night with the kids and one without, perfect for both.

Refilling the Nespresso coffee pods daily would be welcomed although, I do always carry my own spare supply when travelling. Sometimes traffic noise from Broadway can be intrusive, especially late at night or early morning, dependent upon the room location.

The Old Clare Hotel is my main choice for stays in Sydney due to its quality and size of rooms and importantly location close to Central Station. The staff are always welcoming and rooms spotless. The provision of an espresso coffee machine is a bonus as is the hotel's location adjacent to multiple restaurants, bars and cafes in the area.

Had some issues post visit with the pre-authorisation charge, hotel duty manager’s response was terse and not very helpful.

wanted to go to the pool at 4:30pm but the rooftop bar was open, there was extremely loud music and people were there to party so I couldn’t really stay at the pool and had to go back to my room.

Everything is absolutely beautiful, the staff is very helpful and the room was so comfortable.
