How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Dinner was nice but would have liked more choice for room service breakfast. Eg simple things like cereal, toast, porridge with poached pears?
Spacious room and spa. Clean and plush room. Very polite and courteous staff. Nice views from patio. Easy parking. Very close to Canberra centre.

Fob for the elevator did not permit us to access other floors, where our friends were. Reception staff had to assist. Colour scheme in long corridor; a bit dated. Room size did not allow for small table and chairs, other than desk and chair.
Greeted by staff in a warm, friendly manner. Room was comfortable and clean. USB ports were appreciated. Dining facilities were good.

This was our second time staying here and we loved it. Room was very clean and comfortable. Manager Navanna was very helpful in sorting out our booking, really appreciate all his efforts.

Little to not like. Outlook from the room I had over the car park wasn't the best view but more than made up for by the great views from the light and airy restaurant space. I sat up there for a while working and staff were happy to accomodate that.
Great sized and well designed room with a large balcony. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The restaurant and bar at the Rex are beautifully designed and looked newly renovated. Great breakfast offering in lovely setting with stunning views of the landscape around Canberra. It was a good location for me only a short walk to Lonsdale Street and with light rail just nearby to get to the CBD. First time in Canberra so it was a good location for exploring before my conference. It had good facilities I did not have time to try out like pool access. I was only there one night but would happily stay there again.

Parking situation very annoying, risk of having your car damaged due tightness of spaces and also lack of.
Room was lovely and clean. Bed was big and comfy. Location good most things close or short driving distance.

Really well-priced room. The bed was super comfy and the room was very clean. Room was quiet. We ordered drinks to the room and they came without any incidents. Parking was free & located around the outside of the premises. The real winner is the bar (The Howling Moon) located on the top of the building, with floor to ceiling windows & amazing views. The drinks & food lists are both brilliant at this establishment, but you are best to make a booking as soon as you check in b/c they will up on Saturday nights with functions - we were lucky and got a table for 2. There is a pool & small gym setup in the adjacent building which is free. It’s only a short 10 minute walk into Braddon where you will find multiple restaurants, bars, burger joints & a brilliant brewery.

Nothing- we were happy with everything.
The room was amazing with an awesome view. We got upgraded to a spa room which was fantastic. Everything was immaculately clean and the rooftop bar had a great view and atmosphere with a range of cocktails and delicious food. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was in a good location.

parking. what little parking was in cramped potholed entrance road. Full breakfast was basic with powdered scrambled eggs and undercooked bacon. Ate elsewhere second day.

Carpet in the room was stained & there were no privacy curtains so the neighbours could look directly in our room. The mattress was very solid, my husband liked it but it left me very sore in the morning, I’m just more of a soft mattress person.

Not enough parking
The Hotel was everything you would expect out of Hotel of his standard. Staff great. My son left a device in the room. Contacted them. They rang back within ten minutes t say they had found it. Was posted the following day. Great service.
