Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe were charged full price for a room plus a resort fee, but the pool was being repaired and the restaurant was closed. Also the taxi driver charged us $35 in USD from the airport, but the next day's taxi driver gave us the option of USD or Barbados dollars which was half price.
The room was very clean and well taken care of. The staff arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the airport and to take us to the port the next day. It was also a short walk to the Hastings Beach.

United KingdomThe hotel is looking very tired and is in need of a complete refurbishment. Whilst the room was ok for our 1 night stay I would not consider staying any longer than that as the rooms and facilities were not up to a standard that we expect.
Set down a back road in Worthing the location is just ok but not great. Facilities nearby are lacking and there are much better locations in St Lawrence.

United StatesWe got in very late at night and our rooms on the ground level were given to someone else. The night shift person called the manager and she confirmed our reservations on the ground level. We were traveling with friends who one was walking with a walker. With much assistance we finally got up the two flights of stairs. My husband also had medical issue and should not be having to carry luggage or walk stairs thus our reason for the ground level. I even confirmed this room reservation prior to our visit and once again told them that we needed ground level. By the time we got to our room it was almost 2 in the morning and we had to leave early to catch our cruise. After our experience I would not recommend this as a place to stay.

United StatesExtreme level of noise with the windows 3 feet away from the main road with trucks and motorcycles passing by all night long. NO SLEEP AT ALL! No sound proof windows or any sound insulation for that matter at all! NO electricity for over 4 hours on the evening of the stay! The refrigerator was not plugged in and the air-conditioner was on when we entered the room! The temperature inside was over 90F!. Then, the power went out! I asked for a quiet room at the check in! What else. No proper English spoken. SLUM neighborhood, poor and unsafe and very scary! The ongoing remodeling on the property inducing the room we stayed in (the bathroom was not finished)
there were NO breakfast provided.

United KingdomIt was basic but nothing we couldn't deal with. Needs an upgrade but absolutely fine for the price. Very quite in the evenings but plenty of restaurants and bars in the area
It is basic but in a great location, clean and everything was working. It also felt very safe and secure with 24 hours reception and security guard. Can't beat the location. A 1 minute walk to the beach

AustraliaWhen their internet went down, they should have let guests know because I incurred significant expensive roaming fees while it was down. I only found out by accident. The staff at the front desk had no internet so they should have alerted me as I was up on my balcony and clearly visible. The hotel has no meal facilties, not even breakfast and NO shampoo or conditioner. Who has ever heard of a hotel not providing guest toilteries. Not happy at all
Staff were helpful. Room was good, bed comfortable, writing desk and lighting good to use laptop & work.

The very clean room and safe location, excellent service provided by Makela and Nahila but also the Security man. Unfortunately restaurant was closed. But would stay again in a heartbeat. Although old, everything needed was right there in the studio and it was clean, really very clean. Felt very safe and welcome.

United Kingdomwhere do you start: Room was old and needed a complete renovation walls dirty formica shelving was delaminating cupboard units damp damage bathroom dirty tiles and grouting same clothes closet a makeshift in the bathroom… great damp clothes sink a catastrophe old shower dirty curtains with stains gas leaked as no safety valves on the gas cooker paper and debris under the bed door had a very poor locking system kitchen area old, dirty and worktops marked and dirty We’d booked for a week but realised one night would be maximum and under sufferance hated the place. supervisor finally was willing to waiver the 7 night stay after I spoke to booking.com but had to sign a waiver meaning no mention of the problems on social media … This Inn should be closed and totally gutted. surprisingly they never offered to move us to another room so i can only assume they are all the same. anyway we have moved on and won’t let it spoil our holiday. Troy was lovely and very apologetic
Thé guy who met us Troy was both friendly and helpful the supervisor was rude and unprofessional

United Kingdomno restaurant or bar on premises so no ambience. iron gate at front that needed to be unlocked to be let in or out which made it all feel like a comfortable prison. Booked for three weeks but realised when i got there that that would be too long in such premises so enquired whether i could stay a week and then move somewhere else but was told point blank that there would be no refunds for any unused time even if they had a few days notice. For that inflexibility i would not go there again although i suspect it may be common practice in Barbados.
