Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumCleaning was not provided into our room, the room was not ready at the time of checking , of course they will charge you 15 € if you want to do and early check in, the room was ok, Breakfast, a little bit expensive for what you get.
location is close by main road and a few restaurants, is quiet and offers peace and quiet place to rest, close by activities that I recommend, Kayaking or Adventure Park is really a nice place to go.

BelgiumAs mentioned, we AND the hotel had the misfortune of being stuck without water for a while. This was very uncomfortable, but the staff helped us through. However, we're students without a car and the transport options were nonexistent. Busses came twice a day at awkward hours and are famously unreliable in Wallonia, there was no sidewalk on the busy way to Durbuy and the taxi was obviously very expensive. These two issues aren't so much the hotel's fault as the city's fault. It was clear that the area was leaning towards some wild west tendencies. "Fix it yourself" was the feeling I got in and around Durbuy. I got more adrenaline making my way towards Adventure Valley than I got inside of Adventure Valley. My advise is: get a car if you can, be prepared for people to drive 90 on dangerous roads where it says 70 and be prepared for things to go wrong in any hotel where you stay.
We impulsively booked the spa on arrival and it was amazing. The rooms were very comfortable. Furthermore, we didn't have much time to explore the terrain, but what we saw was nice. There were some issues with the water, but staff clearly worked hard to get them fixed and helped us with a bottle of water, which is all they could do.

BelgiumBed or bedding- mattress had leather cover, I’m sure this is so that they can save on mattress cleaning, but it didn’t make for good nights sleep. The mattress it self was too soft for me. Also terrible pillows, no neck support and very soft. I ended up folding two towels the second night as using as pillows. Room has no a/c or fan and even though it wasn't crazy hot during our stay our room just felt too hot to comfortably sleep. With open window there was some fresh air coming in but so were the flies and mosquitos which kept us up. All in all not a good night sleep and up early.. Unfortunately, I don't think the stay was worth the money. We paid over €200 for two night. With breakfast for two days for two, dinner for two one night and kayaking for 2 costs us another €200. Which is a lot of money for what you get. In all honesty I wouldn't stay here again, it's just not worth it and sleep was a big issue. When you are there for an active weekend, sleep is important.
The location wasn’t bad- need a car to stay here unless happy to stay in hotel all time or hike to and from nearby villages. Barvaux 45min away and it really is a hike. The other nearby village 20min away but does involve hiking on a side of a busy road with no walkways for pedestrians. Free parking and fairly large car park. Staff were great. Very nice and welcoming. I attempted to speak in French on occasions and people never snubbed me or my French skills. Also breakfast and dinner was good. Breakfast- not too much choice but all the essentials for continental. Fresh breads, pastries and baguette. Dinner- small menu but all food was great.

BelgiumThe room was a bit smaller than I hoped for. And no kettle/coffee maker in the room, but perhaps this is not default option in the hotel.
Large playground, and walking paths in the neighborhood. Attentive personnel, they contacted us in advance to serve the dinner at check-in evening. Duck was delicious. Various options for breakfast, everyone in the family was happy. We used an option to book private time slot of spa/sauna, that was truly relaxing. Nice place!

United StatesWouldn't change anything!
My kids loved the bunk beds; the breakfast was FANTASTIC, the grounds were beautiful and the playground made the kids so happy. After having not experiencing a very warm reception elsewhere in Belgium, we quickly concluded the Ardennes region, and the staff at Mont-des-Pines in particular, were the friendliest people in our 10 days in the country.

United StatesWalls were thin, we could hear noise from above and the sides of us. Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable.
The location was great, quiet, and there were really great amenities. We booked a spa wellness room and loved having our own sauna. The patio was great and had a nice drink selection.

United KingdomDuring check-in no one spoke English. Single bed for our 13yrs old daughter was pulled out type and looked more like half of a bed and she banged her head at the wooden frame every time she turned towards it. Room was very warm and there was no AC or a ceiling fan to cool it down.
Room was clean and spacious with a large bathroom. Double bed was big and comfortable.

NetherlandsOn the website, this place is advertised as a quiet place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city, ideal for relaxing from the hustle and bustle of the streets and city noises. The location of this hotel on the map seems to confirm this. We've been waiting for a weekend like this for a long time. Unfortunately, on the first night it turned out that it was just an advertising gimmick, throughout the night there was a loud party with about 20 people outside our windows. Loud music, alcohol, singing and screaming until the morning. Throughout the weekend I slept maybe 3 hours so trips to beautiful surroundings were also not what I expected (due to fatigue) If I wanted to spend the weekend partying, I would stay in Amsterdam, not leave. In the morning I decided to ask at the reception if it would be like this for the whole weekend, but unfortunately, no one from the hotel staff spoke English. I decided to write an e-mail and I did it the next day. Unfortunately, to date, I have not received a reply. Worst money spent ever and I would like to get it back because I feel cheated.

NetherlandsThere was a fire that broke out on the property on the Friday 24th Feb 2023. There were no proper alert actions in place and the sprinkler system did not activate or there was none to begin with. The alarm was not even a fire alarm but more of a loud beep. The staff that alerted us about the fire, screamed at us in French, clearly seeing that we are confused, but still continued in French with hand gestures. Once outside, no communication what so ever as to what needs to happen. We were left in the cold until the fire trucks arrived. After the ordeal, no apology or explanation was given. No refund for the night that it happened. Not even a complimentary breakfast or dinner. We were unable to have supper that night. My family was left starving. Our weekend was ruined, due to us being too exhausted from the ordeal. To top it off, due to us speaking English, we felt so lost and isolated because no one accommodated us or at least tried to continue to speak to us so that we can try to get a better understanding. I will not be staying here again.
There are hiking trails and a nice playground for the children. It is close to the city center.
