How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

cannot complain for that price
It had private parking so was able to park the car inside the hostel premises. Dormitories were clean and a reasonable breakfast was included in the price.

The price is quite expensive but the location is good just 15 mins to city centre

There was no locker for suitcase, rooms are basic but spacious. There are few power outlets, but you can use the ones in the common area.
The staff really super nice and friendly. Breakfast is good and the facility is clean. Good location, you can reach the center and the station even by walking (20 min)

some of the shower didn’t have hot water or week water pressure.

The room had 6 beds but only 2 plugs. I had no way to use my electric razor next to a mirror, not even in the common bathroom.

Very basic but don't let that put you off.
Situated in a great location within walking distance of the centre of Bruges, with free parking for guests. Clean and good value for money.

the room in which I staid only had two power plugs ( for 6 beds in total ) couldn’t open the main door arriving late at night but luckily a guest that went out for a smoke could open to me .
very nice youth hostel at walking distance to both city centre and railway station . breakfast was simple but in general was ok for the cheap price paid . the hostels has a parking for both cars and bicycles . ( it’s possible to rent one at the hostel too )

We enjoyed staying in his hostel, we arrived late at night and were accommodated in a 6 beds bedroom! The hostel is located in a residential area, it is maybe a 15minutes walk to the city center, with lots of greenery in their courtyard and tables with chairs! The beer was only 2.5 euro and the water was 0.50 euro, breakfast was ok and satisfying, we would recommend staying here if you were a fan of hostels!

The blankets provided were not good and we see lot of hairs around it. We kept it aside and used the bread spread as the blanket. There was no hand shower in the bathroom. The door of the bathroom to cover while bathing seems to be not in good condition. There was also no bathroom carpets available.
Overall the stay was good but still it requires a lot of improvements like the below mentioned.

Maybe matress could be more comfy.
The bed sheets were way cleaner than I expected for a Hostel. I have OCD about cleaning and it was perfect. Plus Friendly employees😊

Food,there are very limited options food taste was bland but then because i am an asian i am used to having spices in food. But the quantity was great of the food

at that time, i couldn’t find the toaster for breakfast, i don’t know if it’s on repair or they don’t have one. need more electric sockets in the bedroom, my room only have 2 electric sockets for 6 people. and i think it would be better if they have a kitchen to use for guests.
the breakfast is amazing, room is pretty spacious and have our own sinks in the room, shower and toilet pretty clean

I have no complaint to share.
Hostel is quiet, clean and comfortable - room was really large and not busy. Staff was friendly. Location is ok, not too close nor too far from historical center - entrance could be a bit tricky to find, but it happens it's easier to find the hostel at night, as they lit a sign with it's name right outside the pathway into the hostel. Breakfast is good for the price.
