Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly complaint was my double which could be made into twins hadn't been zipped together so the mattresses separated slightly in the night. A little bit of noise around 10.30 when people left the markets but to be expected being right in the centre. This is a 3 star not 5 star so a few things could do with being fixed...some wobbly light fittings and a bedside table but the cleanliness, spacious rooms and staff more than made up for that. Will definitely return next year!
Amazing location, easy to find, incredibly helpful staff and communication (thank you Sandy), private garage for car, large clean rooms, lovely bathrooms, honesty bar, sitting room that you could bring takeaways back to if needed. Just what we needed for a weekend visiting the markets and Brugge.

United KingdomOn arrival and departure we had to buzz for a receptionist to let us in and give out/take in keys, as the Hotel is not manned all the time. There was a fridge in the room, but it was not working!
The hotel is opposite St Salvatori Cathedral, so is in a really pretty part of the City. Everything you'd want to see is within comfortable walking distance - less than 15 minutes walk from the Station parking we used. Our room (Passepartout) was quirky: the bed was on a mezzanine level, but was extremely comfortable. Below was a WC/shower room, sofa bed in the sitting area and a coffee pod machine. Tea/coffee facilities are available and accessible on the ground floor.

United Kingdomnot an ideal room for a family, lots of hard steps with sharp edges so not great for crawling kids. also the upstairs bedroom is on a partition with an open drop from bedroom to the living room below, so again not great for kids, but there was a downstairs sofa bed which solved the problem.
the room was basically a small apartment with kitchen and balcony, with a lovely loft style bedroom

United KingdomThe WiFi wasn't great; it worked amazingly on the ground floor but once up in our room there was barely any connection. The room, especially on the upper floor where the bed is was far too warm; perhaps a fan would've helped. Additionally, the little window didn't have any curtains, and while it was far too high for anyone to look in, it was more about the amount of light that would come in early in the morning. We ended up having to put on a towel to cover it. We would've liked to have more pillows too. About the bathroom, it was a wooden sliding door that didn't close that well, which didn't allow for much privacy. We were also completely unable to control the shower, both the temperature and the pressure. And finally, the system to order breakfast is a bit confusing and our order never came in–however, I must acknowledge that the woman in charge provided us with breakfast on the other property–we're really thankful for that!
This is a lovely hotel in a great location in the midst of the city center, and just a few minutes away from the main attractions. The room was pretty big and all the appliances and furniture seemed new as if recently renovated, especially the bathroom. Ah! And we had a lovely terrace! The bed was very comfortable. And the woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful: she helped us with an issue we had with our breakfast order, and got us a taxi to the station.

United StatesStairs are kinda tedious, but kinda expected from an old property like this, a little loud outside but not real bad.
great location, cobblestone streets and huge old church literally right outside your window, really close to all the shopping and can walk to anything from the hotel. feels very private even when fully occupied.

Czech RepublicWe had to repeat our order process for breakfast several times to become more familiar with the procedure. Once entered, there was no way to go back. But at the end everything was OK and breakfast arrived in order.
Simple accommodation in renovated very old house, directly in old town. Parking was available in underground parking approximately 200 metres away, but it was possible to unload luggage in front of the entrance door before parking. Very quiet location, restaurants as well as historical sites within walking distance. Breakfast was very good, although it had to be ordered up front via web site.

GreeceIt seemed a little bit dirty. The steps are a bit steep. When the sofa bed is open, not much room is left. But none of these is important, as we spent most of our time enjoying Bruges and then came back to a spacious and comfortable apartment in the heart of town.
The location is probably one of the best in Bruges. You just have to walk 1-7 minutes to dine, play, explore, shop. The apartment is spacious and we loved the patio. We enjoyed the breakfast too, as well as the fact that the building is old and with history. There's both a shower and a tub in the bathroom, great for families! The kitchenette is useful too.
