How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Wi-Fi and TV a bit hit and miss.
Always stay here when in town. High standards never drop and that goes for the property, rooms, facilities and staff.

- it was a little cold in our room when we entered - the door cannot open and close properly
- the hotel is at the centre - free parking spots, some with roof - excellent breakfast, you can choose from 8 options - every room is unique and painted in lovely colors - you have a hairdryer in every room - some rooms are with terrace - there is a compliment sweets :)

The electrical lights in the rooms, during the night, are not enough.

The bathrooms could be deep cleaned. Uncomfortable pillows. Weird decor in the room (picture frames with stock photos)

Some hotel or outsider guests were very loud, especially during the evening, some of them talked so loud at the restaurant that i could hear them although my balcony door was closed
Breakfast was very good with alot of choices, excellent friendly staff, spacious & very clean rooms

Everything was perfect
Everything!! Extremely good service, very clean hotel. I got a complementary basket with fruits, which I found very sweet. As a frequent traveler, I must say the experience I had in this hotel was one of the best

The hotel accommodation is outstanding, the breakfast was delicious and the the staff members where very polite professional and smiley, the room was very comfortable clean and hygienic. I'll hope to comeback soon.

surpassed my expectations in every way. Its central location made exploring the city effortless. The staff provided exceptional service and helpful recommendations. The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The restaurant served delicious Bulgarian and international cuisine. The amenities, are not there, but you can explore other options if you ask reception. The hotel's attention to cleanliness and safety was commendable. The bed ensured a restful sleep, and the bathroom was well-appointed. Complimentary Wi-Fi and on-site parking were convenient. Hotel Idol is a true gem

I am pleased to say that our stay at "Idol" hotel has been excellent and has surpassed all my expectations. The staff was very wonderful and catered to my every need. The room was impeccably clean. The service was very good, and our stay was so relaxing! And the food - more then excellent! Thank you for your warm hospitality, and we hope to stay at "Idol hotel" again soon.

Poor breakfast, no matter that hotel was full. May be if it is described in the menu in the morning that can be ordered several things will be better. For example i wanted eggs and sandwich and i could order only 1 of them.

Only one recommendation, probably there is some issue with sewarage. The bathroom was clean, but there was a small from the sewarage.

A small note for the hotel management; Carpets on the floors cause odor, it can be a problem for people with allergies.
It was so enough for a business stay. The room was good and well decorated. Breakfast plates include so many alternatives.

Everything in this hotel is great - the clean rooms, the friendly staff, the quality of the food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast. It will be my place to stay during my future business trips to Targovishte.
